You're OUT your mind if you think VR won't take off!

Dude! You have hentai in BETTER than 3D! You're in the room with her!

*Puts arm around your shoulder* The best application for VR is in hentai and watching entertainment in new angles! There's too much fun to be had! I would actually get a dating sim for VR! Even playing COD would be interesting in VR!

Don't get me wrong, I love this stuff. For the very reason you've said and more. But most people don't like wearing a big ass unattractive clunky thing on their head and swinging around a room completely unaware of their surroundings.
Similar shit happened with google glass, and that wasn't even that unattractive.

I have one too, but they're big and ugly, the consumer versions are way better with full functionality!

With a 3d headset we need 3d interfaces to go with it.... otherwise its a 3d game you play in 2d.

Unless I am inside the game, isn't VR. You are pretending it is but isn't real VR. I still buy it to encourage real VR development.

For those curious, true sex is now possible in virtual reality environments, which means you can finally replace your baggage girlfriend with Hatsune or Nico! And you can actually bang them!

I think VR/AR technology both have at least a decade or two to go before they're worked out enough that they can become mainstream. Right now there's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many problems, especially health problems, for me to be all that excited.

I mean, I guess it'd be kinda cool to have sex with fantasy characters......but would it really be worth the cost of the headset + hospital and therapy? Not to mention the damage to your IRL social skills and relationships? For me personally, the answer is "lol, not even close". Honestly, the potential mental health problems are both the biggest and hardest to solve problems with VR/AR technologies.
