What do you thinka bout christmas being celebrated early.

For the past few years now Christmas has started to be celebrated early. Some places start preparing right after Halloween or mid November.

Like where I Live Christmas music is already being played on the radio and santas and whatever else associated with Christmas are being featured on the news.

So what are your thoughts on places celebrating Christmas early?

Edit: Me I really don't mind it since I really love the Christmas music.

The earlier the better, Christmas decorations, the music, everything is just so great, so why not wish for more of it.

Edit: After reading what someone else said I've come to to the conclusion that as long as it's after thanksgiving it's fine, before is a little too early.

I don't really mind. It gives people something to look forward to and a reason to be happy.

I don't mind but we gotta get rid of Black Friday. and if we spent as much effort getting ready for Christmas on other things, more important things, the world would be a better place

I get really annoyed when they rush the season. Seeing Santa and holly when I want to get excited about roast turkey and cornucopias is aggravating. Seeing it when I expect to see Jack-o-Lanterns and skeletons is ridiculous.

I used to like the music for Christmas until I worked in a mall during Christmas season - they piped it in all day/all night and I got so sick of the same tracks being played on repeat that I'd have gladly strangled Elvis to stop Blue Christmas from ever being heard again.

I remember when they at least had the decency to wait till one holiday was over before celebrating the next. Now it seems like they want to mash them all up the way they turned Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday into "President's Day."

So I guess I'll have to wish everyone a merry humbug....I've officially turned into Scrooge.

Way back long ago--before parents stampeded malls for Cabbage Patch Kids and Tickle Me Elmos, and stores and the media started getting excited about what consumer item we'd all murderously kill each over this year, as if they'd be disappointed if it didn't happen--the so-called "Black Friday" was the official starting-pistol of Christmas season.
It didn't have a name, it was just "The day after Thanksgiving, when everybody sleeps late and has the Friday off, the stations all start showing Jimmy Stewart and Laurel & Hardy, and it just occurred to everyone that it might be a good idea to finally road-trip to the mall to get out of the house and get around to that shopping they put off all November, now that the Thanksgiving grocery shopping is out of the way."

The malls mostly wait until first week in November now, which is when Daylight Savings starts turning everything dark and the first good fall/Christmas movies start hitting shopping-mall theaters anyway, so it's a good time to put us in the mood for decorations and Holiday muzak.

Yeah, all those other people barging into your carefully guarded personal space, wanting to make you notice and care about 'em, who needs that optimistic life-affirming Up With People crap? No wonder there's so many mall shootings this time of year!

Where I live it's more like, "You don't celebrate christmas? Haha, how silly, that would be like not believing in god.. wait, you don't believe in god..? BURN HER!"
