Florida boy, 9, threatened with sexual harassment charges for writing love note
A 9-year-old Florida boy could face sexual harassment charges for penning love notes to a girl in his class, his furious mother said.

The tiny admirer gushed about his crush, telling her she's "pretty and cute" while boldly revealing his feelings for her in the handwritten loose-leaf letter, ABC Action News reported.

"I like you," the Tampa fourth grader in the Hillsborough County Public Schools district wrote inside a heart drawing. "I like your hair because it is not sloppy. I like your eyes because they sparkle like diamonds."

This love note a 9-year-old boy in Florida wrote to his crush has gotten him in trouble.

The romantic proclamations landed the little boy in the principal's office, where school officials threatened they'd get authorities to slap him with sexual harassment charges, according to ABC.

They said his pining was inappropriate and came in several "unwanted" letters.

It also prompted other students to tease the young writer, saying he wanted to see the girl naked, though the notes never expressed any sexual intentions, the news station said.

"He's 9," said the boy's mother, who wasn't identified. "What little kid doesn't write love notes? My 9-year-old doesn't even know what sexual harassment means."

Hillsborough school district officials did not immediately return requests for comment Thursday.

Honestly this BS doesn't surprise me. This country is getting more stupid by the minute. I look a girl, sexual harassment. I thou about having sex with this girl, sexual harassment. I defend myself against a girl, sexual harassment. Now apparently writing a love letter to a girl I like, is sexual harassment. Ugh this country need a woke up call.

I'm not surprised. American logic for you. Writing a love letter to a 9 year old girl is wrong. But sexually abusing or raping a girl of 15 or over, well that's totally fine.

umm, I have no idea about where in the hell you got the later from.

please tell me where in america we accept rape -ever-.
It is a felony that carries the additional weight of everyone who knows what you did hating you.

I do agree this is stupid as hell, and this country is going to ****, but you are way off on that second part.

More like 18 or over, but still girls can get guys thrown in jail over a false claim at any age. It's like the Salem Witch Trials of 2015...

P.S.: I can agree with the latter only if the victim doesn't speak up, when she does though, it's usually resolved in a second.

You mean latter, not later.

I'm not just saying this about Americans actually. People get away with rape in Britain for ridiculous reason too. The whole world has basically gone backwards and no one gives a shit about women anymore. Basically, you can just do what you like to them now as long as they are in their teens. Sad world we live in now...

Hardly... no one cares about sex abuse anymore. If women say they've been raped, people come up with stupid excuses like "well she was wearing a short skirt so she was leading him on" or "she was at a nightclub, what did she expect?" and so forth.

Idk where your references to the US are coming from, but I think the new trend is to place the man under guilty until proven innocent, even if there is zero evidence in the case.

Kinda like:

I agree with the poster. You shouldn't try and have sex with someone who is drunk. That's right. But would anyone actually convict jake? I doubt it. They would probably let him off because Josie was wearing a strapped top or something.

Basically, unless the girl in question is a complete stranger, wrestles you with all her might and it's done somewhere like an alleyway, you will probably get away with it. "no" doesn't mean no anymore. it's sickening.

Girl listing. If you or I are drunk and decide to have sex while being drunk. You and I are still consenting. Just because you or I didn't like having sex with somebody, doesn't mean that you or I get to pull the rape card. Because even when drunk you are still capable of saying NO. Unless you or I say no and the person still do, isn't rape. Is simply, you did something that you wouldn't done while being sober.

cind of disagree and agree to the post.
Really depends and could be a hard case.
If she let her self weak and knew something could happend (and was awake and all that) then she could have done something to prevent further action but if he was then didn't let her "go" then he could be the one to blame for this.

But if both knew something could happend (or that if I drink more I could do something stupid) then both could be in the wrong.
also girls shouldn't think its "safe" to drink either. (depends what I mean by safe)

and about the topic was this not a week ago?

I honestly don't see that anywhere in the US, you should probably check your sources there over the pond. I see people get convicted even if the girls consent here. I've seen guys get setup by a girl where he was drunk and she's not, but she says that he raped her and fucks his life up.
