Why can't we all speak same one language, it would be better with communicating with others, why we all have different languages?

If this kind of question looks stupid to you.

English is the international business language and many countries require English alongside their own language. The Anglos have won. The UK may be slowiy fading into irrelevancy but their language is strong.

English is more than on its way to being a common language, I knew many German, French, and Russian students through out high school that spoke and wrote English better than most adults. As far as why we still have other languages, I'm sure it has more to do with keeping true to one's culture and past.

There was once a very advanced civilization known as the "imanity". They were blessed by the gods and everything was well.
There was peace and everyone spoke a single language. One day, someone suggested that they would try and reach the gods by a very long ladder, and so they spent their days working on the ladder, abandoning their other duties. Goddess Haruhi knew that she had to do something, so she scrambled the words of everyone in the construction. There was confusion, and people moved from each other, forgetting about the ladder project. New civilizations with different language and culture was then created. That's why there's so many different languages and why there's no single true universal language.

It is all of our culture really. For example look at China, Mandarin is the main language in China, supposedly. However, not everyone in China will speak Mandarin but instead will speak their own native language in their province. It is the same in Germany but that is more in line of different set of words for east and west. Japan is another good example.

Wouldn't want all humans to be working together or something now would we. It would be disastrous.

It would be abysmal. Like the time we came together to put an end to small pox. Was an awful thing we came up with a cure together.

Literally drove a species to extinction. So cruel and selfish.
