Nope not at all.

Pre-orders are good for pre-loading (i need to play day one)

You just need to be smart about what you pre-order or not.

Seasons passes are .......eh debatable but DLC is only good when it's a full blown EXPANSION.

Yes, they are ruining gaming.

Season passes are a slap in the fact, DLC(Disc Locked Content) is horrid and preorder bonuses are for cunts and manginas who need extra gear to win in multiplayer matches against superior players such as myself.

Also.

FUCK THAT DUMB MICROTRANSACTION GAMBLING SHIT IN EVERY GAME.

Kill that stupid ass, RNG, OCD aspect of multiplayer, God. Whichever jackass thought. "Oh, you know what would make this game fun? Gambling."

LOLOLOL!!!!!

P.S. No, I'm not really a bitch.

Plz no.

Rpg's without RNG would be awful.

Fallout 4 is not COD, not even by a mile. Despite making the protagonist a decorated and combat hardened veteran he or she has no idea on how to use even the simplest weapons until a moderate investment in related weapon perks is taken. COD on the other makes you automatically a master of whatever you decided to use. Also anyone who saw Fallout as anything other then an Action RPG is kidding themselves, those days were gone the minute they released 3. At least with 4 they finally got the action part of it right. Also despite it being smaller on the x axis they have significantly increased the y axis, which finally makes urban combat what it was always in real life, a death sentence for anyone not looking up.

Also I will never get COD bashers, sure it's not my preferred genre but it's just another game out there.

I think it depends on the dlc/game genre.

In a fighting game like Dead or Alive you can play everyone play each other no matter what because the dlc is just mainly costumes.

However in something in like call of duty where they sell a few maps(for a very overpriced amount) they create a wedge between players because not everyone can play those maps without paying for them first.

Now take an MMO expansions ARE needed to keep the game going in things like world of Warcraft or final fantasy 14 or guild wars(not sure how many xpacs released for that game)

That is why I argue it really depends on the game genre and DLC being offered that determines if it's harmful to the gaming community or not.

It does not need to be bad but in some games its just a mess.
Maps splitting small or decent communites,
Pay2Win,
Should be included,
too pricy vs content,
and so on.

preorder can be cool and just an edition,
but hate when they make it go away (either it be a custom quest etc, that should NOT BE TAKEN AWAY AFTER RELEASE but into maybe cheaper dlc)

but does not need to ruin gaming, depends on what devs or rather the companies marketing.

Yes I agree with this.

I just wonder now are devs trying too hard to make players buy DLC. Destiny being my example.

Sorry but not all devs want it, but are forced to do it.
Mostly by publishers that want to do it for "marketing reasons".

Preorder culture is a blight on gaming. It punishes the consumer for being cautious and and incentivizes an unhealthy, blind faith in the product -- a faith that can often be misplaced. Overall, the system is an abhorrent way of milking money and rarely is it a good idea to prepurchase a game. The only time I'd preorder a game nowadays is when it comes from companies such as Atlus. They've yet to fail me in delivering a quality product worth its price, so I'm willing to put my trust in them and dish out a little extra cash for a guaranteed copy of the game plus a few pieces of bonus content. They've earned it.

I have less of a problem with season-passes (especially for episodic games like the ones Telltale makes), but I still wouldn't be sad to see them go.

The age old debate on whether or not this is runing gaming. Even if you don't believe it, please be mindful that at a business standpoint, people throwing money at you when you haven't created anything yet, wouldn't you be lazy and half ass it so you can secure more profit? After all. the money is already in your hands.

With season passes, I've been seeing more and more developers cut stuff out of their game and sell it as dlc. Destiny has been a prime example of this. Recently, Fallout 4 has had a harpoon gun discovered in the resources and may lead to Fallout 4 cutting some underwater gameplay out to sell it as dlc.

Also regarding Fallout, or Bethseda in general: If you haven't noticed, the world spaces they use in their open world games gets smaller and smaller with every game they release, and the gameplay is dumbed down. The writing is pretty terrible to boot, but look at their sales. Despite Bethseda selling a downgraded version of their games (except graphics). their sales have increased over the years instead of decreased even though the games they release are a lot smaller than previous games.

Despite what your opinion on the subject is, please be mindful that game companies could be trying to nickel and dime you and are using current business models to milk every dollar they can.

While I am having fun playing Fallout 4, I can't help but be overly disappointed to the whole presentation. You can move from one end of the map to the other in less than 15 minutes, the game is oversimplified and removed the perk system which made Fallout 3 awesome, and despite a post apocalyptic world, it feels stale and shallow. Bethseda is continuing its downward spiral of their ips and haven't delivered a great narrative experience since Oblivion. Part of the blame stems from current business practices where the developers have all the money in their hands before the game is even released. This will be the last game I buy, period. Until a brief of time has passed. As long as people keep preordering, buying season passes which is just a big bookmark and free money for the developer, and buying half asses non essential dlc, gaming will continue to be nickel and dimed until people take a stand with their wallets.

I'd say yeah on season passes, microtransactions & cutting out content are a problem. Anytime a game has an season pass that cost $50 (Star Wars Battlefront for example), that's a problem. But, it's also optional where do you want to buy them or not. As for DLC (not disc lock content part), I've no problem with them. I just don't preorder video games & wait for complete/GOTY edition to come out.
