Yes, because women are afraid of alimony, child support and getting their children ripped from them by the evil man.'
Right?

Y'know.. You wouldn't need that provision and protection if you wouldn't make threads that offend people.

Nah, judging by what I've seen, it would be useless to sit here and argue with you. It would be a conversation that goes in circles, as many internet arguments do. Its 3 am, I'm not in the mood to get stressed out over this since you hold on so strongly to your opinions. Thats why I said, "Whatever floats your boat mate"

Nah, broke that off, remember? Your safety and provision is lackluster.

Well thank you for the laugh! It's painfully obvious that you're not right in the head.

Having children is a choice, not something that anyone should feel obliged to aim for. Don't go criticising and harassing them for a reason when it doesn't involve you in the slightest. You should have respected her decision and simply told her to explain to her mother why she doesn't want them rather than hammer on. Jesus Christ..

"But much like our subject, what if she has it made? Wealth, stability and a lover? What else is next step? Eventually all their cruising and vacationing is gonna get dull. Stupid broads these days..."

They can take up hobbies, go out and simply socialise, the possibilities are endless. Creating life isn't something that should be taken lightly and just done because you and some other randoms think you should.

All in all, if this isn't a troll thread, then you're the only stupid broad here.

Agree with you.

We all understand why a man wouldn't wanna have children.

Is that so? Care to explain reasons why a guy wouldn't want to have kids?

I'm going to have to go with the proven/disproven fallacy on this one, because I feel like there are some givens in your mind that you might not have expressed in a way that we all understand.

Basically proven/disproven fallacy is an unofficial way to describe an incorrect scientific method. In science, you make a hypothesis that must be proven; you cannot make a hypothesis that must be disproven. (Take for example, my hypothesis: "Magical pink unicorns are real", it must be proven, and we'll act like it's wrong until it's proven, not act like it's right until disproven.)

I'm saying this: Why should women want to have children? If we ask, 'Why wouldn't women want children?', we basically need to disprove that some women want children, which we cannot do scientifically. Therefore I pose the question, and also doubly an answer: Why should women want children? I mean, the person being born also has the chance to die prematurely, kill the mother on birth, cause her pain, cost her money, etcetera. Also, while it is true that our species' propagation is based off of reproduction, it is also true that there are finite resources on Earth and if our population grows out of hand we will all die prematurely.

I don't think it's the actual opinions trying to get communicated through the thread but the way the opinions are presented. I like that people have differing views, but what's the point of having a conversation about differing views if everyone is attacking one another?

Nobody's even listening at that point and it becomes a pointless fight. It tends to be way easier to talk to others calmly, coherently, and respectfully. Then, they actually listen to you. It's a waste of time to respond to and consider the opinion of someone who flames you and talks down to you despite your non-hostility because, frankly, that sort of juvenile behavior merely communicates that the interaction isn't even really about the topic at hand. It's something more personal, all about a petty ego-jerk victory, not about actually communicating any new information. So I wouldn't bother with those.

I despise children, to put it mildly. I only like the quiet, calm children that don't demand anything. I have no interest in passing down my genes or continuing the bloodline or any of that stuff. What's the use. I'll be dead in the future and won't see how my bloodline branches out. I feel like having a kid is a huge responsibility, one that I'd rather do without since it's not even guaranteed to be a good investment. A dog, at least, is probably going to have a better chance of being beneficial to you directly than a kid. The dog dies in about a decade and doesn't ask much of you as its master. A kid stays with you for way longer and demands much more. I value my autonomy in life and my freedom to do as I please without being weighed down by unnecessary responsibilities.

I've never wanted to have kids and nothing has ever gotten me to consider changing my mind. Maybe I'll change when I get older and get into another relationship or something but I don't even want to be married, let alone have kids. I'm told this is a selfish way of thinking but, in the grand scheme of things, I don't believe I'll be harming anyone by not wanting to have a kid. The laws are the furthest thing from my mind.

Even if someone has a very intense conversation with me and I can't offer any decent rebuttals against their position that it's best to have a kid, I still won't have a kid. I just don't see how not having a kid is bad unless most people are choosing not to reproduce. I'm fine with being an evolutionary dead end. I'm not investing so much in life for something after I die.

How dare someone question or debate another! Oh, the horrors of intellectual discourse! Shield your eyes, lest your opinion be criticized.
