My collage library is great. I've checked out some pretty obscure and offbeat stuff from them and the staff has known me for years.

Yeah, probably a college's library is the only library that still receives lots of people a day xD

Well, I actually don't know many libraries that are not affiliated with a college anyway...

I had to go to the library for this project, but usually I go to bookstores.

I visited a library the other day. Didn't touch any of their books. I just used it as a place to sit and read books on my Kindle that I'd purchased or sampled from Amazon.

I have visited libraries in the past year either to browse their collection (and in a couple of cases I ended up buying the book for Kindle after I'd decided based on my browsing that I wanted it), and even took out a book once. But library visits have been very rare for me for several years, though I used to visit pretty regularly, even after I stopped being a student.

I do, as often as I can any way.. I don't always have the luxury of buying books. Sometimes I also don't want to buy a book, when it's cheaper to borrow it from a library and just copy info down.

so resourceful.

Even when I do, I only end up pretending to read while browsing the web.

I go to the library all the time! I usually get all my manga and graphic novels their since I don't have much money. It is a cheep alternative since I usually only read a book once! Also my library carries DVDs and tv shows so I can catch up on those things insted of waiting for them on Netflix or finding them online!

So, libraries are still somewhat useful xD

I think that as a place for studies and reading, the library will not disappear easily...

But as a place to get books for casual reading... yeah, I think that only few people do that xD
(which means that unless the library is sponsored by something or someone, it will close)

The Cleveland library system has a lot of great titles in terms of comics/graphic novels/manga, and sometimes I'll go in there on my day off and randomly pick something off the shelf.

I would love to work there if money wasn't an issue.

In my country, library subscriptions are free until you turn 18. I went to the library all the time when I was a kid, but when I turned 18 I stopped going. The collection was pretty limited and there weren't many English books, so I didn't think it was worth the money.

I spent some time in the US. I think I would still go to the library if I lived in the US, because the library system where I used to live was really great. You could get books and even manga from other libraries, and I don't think it cost anything back then.

I see no reason to own a book. You read it once and then it's basically useless and a waste of resources. I wish there was a library for e-books. That would be so amazing.
