In the DC metro area, I hate the beltway (I495) during rush hour, and I66 pretty much anytime. AAA recently said that three of the worst bottlenecks in the country are here in the DC area.

In California, I hated driving during the Santa Anas or during any rain. The Santa Ana winds would blow all kinds of stuff out into the roads where you had to avoid people's trashcans, lawn furniture, etc. Plus Californian's have no idea how to drive in the rain. The worst road trip I had in CA was going over the Cajon Pass to get to jury duty and when I got up there the CHiPpers wouldn't let me through without tire chains because of the snow. I was the only car that made it through since I still had my chains from Michigan - the only other vehicles on the road were enormous 18wheelers that looked like they'd run me over any second.

In Mississippi you had to watch out for the black ice in the winter. They never really get snow down there - just really nasty ice storms that bend all the pines over to the ground and knock out the power for days at a time. You also had to watch out for animals in the road.

In Pennsylvania, they seem to put up signs that say "BUMP" instead of fixing the potholes. You have to be careful or you can do a real number on your suspension and undercarriage. The lake effect snow from Lake Erie helps fill the potholes but the roads can be really slick and they get black ice. I got stuck at a gas station for about 6 hours last year waiting for the roads to be treated enough that I could get to the hotel.

In Michigan, the hardest part is identifying your car from all the other lumps of snow in the parking lot so you don't spend hours digging your neighbor's car out. LOL! People put all sorts of things on the antenna of the car so they can identify their own vehicle. My friend used to blow up a condom to put on his when they'd predict snow. You get used to driving in the snow - most folks up there take their car to the mall parking lot and do a few doughnuts in the snow the first time it comes that season and then they're pretty good for the rest of it.

Worst part of driving in Florida was the other drivers, primarily the elderly ones who can't see over the steering wheel and go everywhere at 25mph or the snowbirds and other visitors who don't know where they're going but are trying to go too dang fast and then hit the breaks when they miss their turn and cut across 3 lanes of traffic to hit the exit.

I hate when other drivers are on the road. Its not bad driving till you have other drivers around you that don't know how to drive.

The worst for me is driving long distance on highways at night. I've driven in some pretty nasty storms, and on ice and deep snow... But when you've been on the road for several hours and you're tired and can't see straight it's the worst.

- Other drivers make me nervous. It makes me wonder how the hell they have their license.

- Idiots who ride their motorized scooters on the road instead of sidewalks. It really should be illegal to ride that on roads.

- Separate lanes for riding bicycles should also be illegal. Fucking ride your bicycles on the sidewalks!!

- Stupid pedestrians who don't follow signs or jay walk and then have the nerve to blame the driver if they get crashed into.

- Weather such as snow and rain.

What conditions do you hate most being on the road?
- Drivers (first time / guest) that don't know how to drive in the snow.
- Drivers who are texting, reading the newspaper (and/or book), and putting their mascara
- Drivers do who not stop at a stop sign especially around schools
- Drivers who do not put their lights on while driving in the dusk, night, or sunrise
-Drivers who allow children to wander around the car while in motion instead of placed securely in a car seat.
-Drivers who play their "awful" music while I am trying to listen to my cool tunes.
-Drivers who feel that they have to "lecture" speeders by abiding the speed limit on the fast lane.

That's me!

That's my mother. I hate that she does that! (But mostly she stays in the regular lane.)

Congested traffic, bad drivers, skunks, iced-over roads, construction (detours). Late at night, drunk drivers, people racing, doing reckless shit with no regard for who shares the road.

You know when you want to switch lanes, and your being a good driver and putting your blinker on, and then the jerk in the next lane that your trying to switch to sees it, and he speeds up! Then there are the tailgaters, I always get the ones who are right up on you, and the other lane is clear so they can go around you......but they don't. I won't speed up just to make them happy. I mean, what if there is a cop right around the corner to give me a speeding ticket? After I realize they aren't going to switch lanes, I do, and I slow down a bit so they can get ahead of me. I don't want to deal with their stalker nonsense!

I hate it when there are two turning lanes and idiot drivers take that as an invitation to stay within both lanes and near side swipe you when you're both turning.

I dont like slow drivers driving their cars carefully down the street while iam trying to over take them. I also dont like it when i do a two wheeler 180 in my car and when the car lands the tire busts .

*looks outside* couple of inches of snow that froze solid. This is always fun. It's hard to drive when you can't get into your car because the door is frozen.
