Lady I've eaten five bullets, did five and half years in the army, two tours in Afghanistan, buried pretty much anyone I gave a damn about. I ain't got the time or inclination to dance around anything. That shit is for kids who don't know what they want.

I use to pretty it up some but really what's the point? I only state fact after all, guess I could gloss over it but then I'd get accused of something else I am willing to bet. There is no pleasing everyone and frankly I never really cared to in the first place.

Then why did you spend that whole post trying to talk yourself up?

I could ask you the same question lady. You are after all trying to get some sort of reaction or story outta me. Not sure why but hey I got the time to spare to dance to your tune for a bit.

Nah, I just get annoyed when people try to use things like that as a tool.

A tool, for what? You assume I have an agenda, an end goal in mind. That is giving my rather lacking faculties far too much credit. Hell if I could plan something more complex then what I wanted for lunch tomorrow I'd be a whole lot better off.

Skipped that without even noticing.

Ditto. Don't get me wrong, I was a horndog in highschool like every other dude. But I didn't see the carrot hanging from the vagina like the rest of my peers I guess.

Well, its true once you've experience war, the rest of relatively peaceful society looks like an elementary playground in comparison. BUT, the war weary perspective isn't standard issue, so to speak. No human is meant to experience so much conflict and brutality. I'm sure even our hunter/scavenger ancestors had lower stress levels than someone whose deployed to the thick of conflict zones.

I'll let in you in on a widely known secret, I didn't find it the least bit stressful. Sure it sucked being in the middle of a war zone in some ways but hell it's like finding the place you belong ya know. I never did sleep better then after I came back from a patrol..and there was plenty of opportunity for Fraternization with troops from all the globe if ya know what I mean. And soldiers are so refreshingly straightforward about everything I wonder how you civilian types manage to get anything done by being the exact opposite.

Honestly every single person should be forced to spend some time dodging bullets, it'd make you lot stop wasting time with this game you play with each when romance is involved.

People with this mindset were the most annoying part of being in the military..

Yeah I get that a lot from my brother. He wishes he never left the service because he had a rough time adjusting to normal society. And he is very direct about making points. But those mind games are typically more of a girl thing. Guys beat around the bush but usually quite a bit less for the most part. at least with people I know. If you think about them as off-ramps and on-ramps, then you can usually find a clear direction that they lead, even if it's not as direct as it could be.

And is "you civilian types" a condescending term used in wherever you were posted in the military? Seems like it but I could be wrong.
