So I was hesitant at first with Yokai Watch, originally thinking it was trying to copy Pokemon. The more and more I dug into it however, I became intrigued and eventually wanted to buy it it was so cool! Combining gameplay from Pokemon and the Persona series and having an adorable mascot to boot, it was everything I could wish for in an RPG. Also, being made by Level 5 studio, I didn't expect anything less from them!

I wrote a little article about the game as well for my school and now my Japanese professor wants to share the game to others in the class so that they can get a little extra credit for identifying the folklore monsters in question. What do you guys think about the game so far?

Annnnddd your point being? Alot of anime in general is aimed to be for a younger audience yet young adults and even people above the age of 25 eat it up. Pokemon is meant to be played by a younger audience yet there is a Master's league in the world championships that consist of people over the age of 18.

But I see your point on it appealing to kids age 4-12. Is that your only problem with it?

Honestly considered picking up Yo-Kai Watch this past week when I got a lucky $60. I bought Stella Glow instead, but I still have my eye on the game. It's a franchise that definitely seems interesting, but the gameplay isn't simplistic enough to catch the attention of children, and most young adults who'd be willing to play video games likely have an established nostalgia for the original Gen of Pokemon. The market just wasn't ripe for Yokai in NA nor EU; I definitely don't expect it to impact here like it did in Japan.

Wow, that's cool to hear that your professor himself is offering extra credit for that! I have yet to start the game myself, though I did pick it up at launch.
