Do you know difference between copyrights, trademarks, and patents (i.e. utility patents)?

If you do say so in the comments.

Spoiler explains it.

My sister is in patent law, so I know a bit from her. And I'm a chemist so I also need to know some.

I learned all about this in IP law course lol. So cool that they're teaching this now in business law.

(btw design patents protect the design only and not the use of the invention. For example, you invented the microwave, the design patent says u can monopolize on the shape/look/aesthetics of the microwave, but it doesn't protect the actual mechanism on how the microwave operates. So if ALL U HAVE is a design patent and not the utility patent, you're screwed cuz someone can make a cat-shaped microwave and totally reverse-engineer yours shamelessly, and they'd be able to sell it and u can't do nada :D)

Pro answer on design patents. Another example would be Coca-Cola bottle designs or the look of Google's home page. Would totally buy that cat-shaped microwave if I had more disposable income.
