From The Japan Times:

"Fuji Television has announced a drama series featuring a lesbian love story as its central theme — a first for Japan."

Can this truly be the first ever Japanese lesbian drama? Looking back I can't think of any can anyone else?

Great, I guess. As long as it's a love story and not fetish fuel.

Well, I can't even think of any English or American ones, off the top of my head (although, I'm sure they exist), so I don't think it's out there to think this is the first Japanese one.

The LGBT community really has been making progress in Japan lately. Shibuya legalizing same sex marriage is hopefully the start of a good trend.

I will agree with Muraki that the premise of the show takes one step forward, and one backward. Then again, it's possible that the show will have more than what Fuji is marketing.

Should be noted that the word ''forbidden'' might refer to the fact that they're step sisters.

All that's left is for the anime industry to let Gen Urobuchi write that Boys' love story he always wanted to do.

From what I've heard it's more romantic than anything else. Supposedly the older sister falls in love with the younger sister before they even meet or realize they'll be family; a sort of love at first sight thing. If they handle this right it could be memorable.

Netflix picked it up in Japan. With the recent release of quite a few Japanese shows on Netflix America (including their exclusive Atelier) I'd say they're more likely to get it than Crunchy.
