Hello,I recently felt like i should get ps vita and I do mostly la on the bed at night time on my phone to watch anime instead of standing in the chair watching anime on my TV. I heard rumors about the OLED about color being saturated to much and I fear it will take away their true color of the anime. I do watch alot of of anime laying down and I do like playing JRPG games too. Primarly for watching anime would LCD be better than OLED or the other way around because I seen some OLED looks crips and nice, while LCD looks kinda dull

If you're just going to use it to watch cartoons, you can do that on your phone.

I have the LCD version and animation looks beautiful and crisp on it, not dull at all. I wouldn't buy one just to watch anime on tbh but it's your money.

no no no no mostly getting for JRPG games and mostly because of persona 4 golden but like I was saying before I do get tired at night and like to watch anime, I only mention will watching anime on LCD or OLED would be better. My phone is shitty to watch anime to begin. crunchyroll doesn't even support my phone I had to downloaded from out source link. I saw a guy link on anime game and her was straight pink but in LCD was light pink and in anime was light pinkish but someone pointed out that was ps vita over saturating. but I know OLED has some crisp looking vibrant color but LCD is more natural

Ps vita is a good system and is supported by crunchyroll and persona 4 golden is an awsome game you put tons of hours into it.

I have the OLED VIta model and I have to say it looks better than my older Sony Bravia 60watt LED TV. Does not say much as its older but I had bought the Sony Experia Z1s phone as it was released and it is just an LED screen in 2014 and compared it to the original release OLED Vita, the difference when streaming blew the Experia away. Watching an intro like the opening of Nisekoi 1st season made it very obvious the difference in detail and color. Same size screen and streaming them side by side made it apparent the OLED wins by a long shot. However I would base your decision on gaming or anime based gaming as you said. The Crunchyroll app on the Vita was last updated in October of last year but it always seems to have issues playing and streaming properly.
With OLED not only do the colors look better but the clarity is incredible too.Games like Plants Vs. Zombies where the mist and silly antics look almost 3D. The Walking Dead which uses dark tones and drab color schemes, the OLED will project the black areas properly with solid black tones versus the almost greyish black a regular LED provides.Hotline Miami uses vibrant colors and having the OLED project that makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Hope this helps.

I have the LCD version and I watch crunchyroll through the crunchyroll app on it all the time, and I think it looks great, the colors are nice and sharp. If you mainly want it for JRPGs, I would recommend you get an higher tier memory card such as an 32 to 64 GB card if your planning to download games.
The PS Vita has many awesome JRPGS such as Persona 4 , Freedom Wars and the Legend of Hero's series so I don't think you would be disappointed if you buy one.

OLED units seem to have slightly better contrast, so the image appears sharper and the colors more pronounced, but the difference is pretty negligible if you aren't anal retentive about HD quality. I have the LCD and am happy with the image.
