Is there anyone besides myself who would like to see Crunchyroll stream the original 1998 Yu-Gi-Oh! series? I'm just curious.
Posted 11/26/15
Yes. Some episodes are there but not all of is, only up to the paradox brothers and then some. I would be quite interested. There's a stickied thread in the premium section where you can suggest anime you want to see on CR.

I think I'll keep my nostalgia goggles on for Yu-gi-oh. I don't want to re-watch it and find out how shitty it really was.

That's correct. The announcement was made mixed in with some Summer 2015 announcements: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-909763.

I'm super excited for our next announcement today, which many of you probably already found out following San Diego Comic Con this weekend: Yu-Gi-Oh! (Subbed) is joining the Crunchyroll library!

That's right; the cast of Duel Monsters is back, and with their original Japanese names and audio track!

The first 5 episodes are available NOW for members worldwide except: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa (Western), Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Italy, San Marino and Vatican City.

We will be adding additional episodes each month, so keep your eyes to the page for updates!

Although this doesn't apply to the OP, I believe the English language dub version is available on CR for some regions -- but US and Canada (and some other places) are excluded from that.

I think the OP is talking about the first series that came out in 1998 aka Season Zero...

Ah, I see, and confirmed checking some episode lists. You are correct. What CR has is apparently Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.

As we see, I know shit about Yu-Gi-Oh. Thanks for clearing things up!

Wait... There was a Yu-Gi-Oh series before Duel Monsters? I always thought Duel Monsters was the original, this is news to me.

I would also love if CR were able to get the rest of the Yu-Gi-Oh series on the site and actually finish off Duel Monsters and GX has they only have the first season available, I know jack about 5Ds and Zexal so I have no idea if CR has the all of their episodes or not or if there any good.

On the subject of Yu-Gi-Oh anyone been watching Arc-V ?

If the episodes can be taken from the complete DVD series, then sure. Speaking of physical format, I have not heard of any news about this anime being available on Blu-Ray, so you'll most likely watch it at SDTV quality.

It would be very nice, but then I couldn't make jokes about that being the "forbidden season" anymore.

I live in Canada, yes, but Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters does stream up here. It didn't used to.

It will always be the "forbidden season". 4Kids still wouldn't have dubbed it. Although Dan Green's voice on a bloodthirsty Pharaoh would be quite amusing.
