Well, I know in China. If you're gay, you're very likely to be cast out of the family.
But Japan seems to have accepted gays.

No, it was to discuss whether or not homosexuality is accepted in the Asian community.

ok... now i'm curious...
What exactly IS the "real" purpose of the general thread section of the forums?
I always thought that General sections meant any topics in General...
Was i wrong?
Are we to discuss only CR here?
Are we to discuss Anime?
I thought that was the Anime section
Movies? Movies/games/music section.
hmmm... so what exactly IS the purpose.. please... Enlighten me.

The gay is not acceptable in certain countries in asia:
1.Mid-East... [Iran(the two boys get hanged!), Death sentence for Islamic countries...]
2. in brunei they not accept it as well..

i think most of islamic countries not accept homosexual... [i'm not blamming islamic countries...]

majority of asian countries i think would not accept homosexuality... they have these kind of funny thinking... lol...

it depends on the major religion of the asian country... most buddhist countries find homosexuality acceptable (thailand and uhh) because of the belief in reincarnation, if you're gay it's alright because you were already a woman in your previous life... it's in islamic countries that they're frowned upon...

anyway in my country we have a love hate relationship with homosexuality... I mean one of my best friends during highschool is actually very gay... Sure, all the boys in class did molest and ridicule him most of the time but we're also protective of him...

I wonder what's the next thread ezeokechick will make. Probably, "Does your parents allow you to date/marry someone outside your race?" kinda like that.
Oh well, cool/boring I guess.

Back to the topic....
I used to live in the Philippines till I was 14 years of age. Back then, it seemed gays were just one-dimensional. Some used to wear excessive make-ups and shorty-shorts like Daisy from Dukes of Hazard. But all of them used to swing their hips wildly and fling their fingers. That's what I noticed so far till the age of 14.
I had a lot of gay classmates during my elementary years. Some of them were smart, some were out-going, & some were just acted childish. I remembered this gay classmate of mine named Giovanni was about to accept his graduation certificate. As soon as he stepped on the stage's stairs, everyone stood up and cheered for him. He had the loudest applause than the mayor who came to see the graduation.
Giovanni's a kool kat. He's outgoing, nosy, easy-to-talk-to, & popular even if he was gay. He'll tell someone what's wrong about him/her straight on his/her faces and he would storm-off with his gayish-swinging-hips-catwalk trademark.
A kool kat.

When I came here in (305) in year 1999, I was a little suprise. Gayness are no longer one-dimensional. There are metrosexuals and guys that look manly straight but girly inside. I never met or seen a gay asian yet on (305).

Hmmms.. I think in China.. tehy are promoting gainess due to the excessive amount of chinese people in this world.. (Formula 17 is a great example). I dont see anything wrong with asian being gay.. =.= Same thing as a white guy being gay.. but some of the older asains find it wrong and cus at their kids and disown them.. Not usually.

Actually, right now China is having an issue with there not being enough women to go around.

Seems that one child per family thing , kill the female , keep the male thing is biting them in the ass.

So , It would make sense that homosexuality would rise.

Gays accepted in the asian community is a hell no. It "seems" that its strick in china and other parts of asia. Japan has let up on the gay dispute though. But none the less its not respected.
