Hi guys :)

Some of us have faced this before, You have a flight that last from 1 hour to 6 hours or more, you have seen

the films in the plane, some of them are good and some are just.......makes you want to sleep instead.

One solution that comes to mind is tacking out your laptop or tablet and start watching anime.

But.....can you do that ?

I'm not talking wither it's allowed or not, I'm talking wither it's wise to do it.

I'll be honest, when it comes to using devices on planes I'm a chicken.

Although people in the plane use their phones for Facebook and Twitter, I still can't do it.

So, my question is this:

If you are on a plane, would you use your tablet or laptop and watch anime ?

Sure most would be fine I think my cosin said it mostly effects radio calls, so they mostly say atleast on the airplanes I take only between landing and when taking off else its not a big deal but keep in mind those two so you don't mess for the pilot I belive.

And yes airplane mode is maybe a bit better for them?

Like there isn't really much technical they could interfere with.

My father is a pilot and he has told me n multiple occasions that using electrical devices is not a big deal. Just keep it on airplane mode and you'll be fine

Did he say anything about what interference it would create?

It doesn't really cause any problems unless there are a lot of devices. if, let's say, 20 people using their phones without airplane mode on, then you will get some radio interference. That's why you can't use your phone during takeoff and landing, because they need the radio during those times. Of course, I might be wrong

No, we just knew already that that's why you can't use your cellphone on an airplane. So he didn't have to say anything.

And since in-flight movies have become near-extinct even on the non-JetBlue airlines, they've pretty much accepted that people would watch DVD's on their laptops. Of course, since nobody has DVD's or laptops anymore, it's just a good idea to download some purchased content onto your tablet/phone just in case, and if you can find anime, more power to you.

Usually I fly JetBlue, where they give you your own DirecTV satellite-cable in every tray-table, so I never have a problem with "airplane mode" Wi-Fi or tablet video.
Of course, it's all cable channels which never show anime, but that hasn't been much of a problem.
(Last flight, they also had a limited Wi-Fi for net-browsing and document clouds, but if you wanted enough to actually stream video, that was an extra charge like any other frill.)

doesn't airplane mode remove you off of 4G/wifi connection...if so then what's the point of using the device in the first place?

It doesn't matter.

There is no airplane mode, the reason they ask people to turn their things off is in case there's a bomb and that that bomb is triggered by a phone call.

You can still view downloaded content.

I always prepare for a flight by downloading 5 complete series to finish on the plane. I have multiple in case I drop any of them.
