Question: My shows under "queue" are no longer updating. […]

As you can see on Launch Calendar the calendar guy is a bit behind on updating the new shows. Once the placeholders for the next episodes are put into the system, they will update on your queue.

I'm having an issue similar to this with one of the shows in my queue(RWBY season 3), but episode 4 was posted earlier today, and yet my queue still claimed next up was to rewatch episode 3.5.

Note, I have "autoplay" off. Also note, I work in IT, so lots of details follow.

Back when I noticed it was still showing me 3.5, the first thing I did was rewatch the end, the beginning, and then the whole thing, so I know I've watched the whole thing, and most recently I've watched it through to the end, but the orange bar is still at about 80%. I just checked a show I've been catching up on(Log Horizon season 2), and even though it's been working fine, its orange bars are like 90% to 98%, I didn't find an ep without at least a pixel of that slightly-darker grey.

Something like two hours ago, my queue was showing ep 3.5 as the next for me in RWBY season 3, but I expanded it and that showed ep 4 existing. (Apparently it went up 11 hours earlier.) So I watched ep 4(all the way through). Now it's showing ep 4 as next, with the orange bar at 98%. I rewatched a few seconds of beginning and a few seconds of end(letting it end on its own of course, which should do the final update), and same thing.

Did I do something wrong on ep 3.5? Is this a bug with having "autoplay" off? I really don't want to turn "autoplay" on, I like reading comments and thinking about what I've just watched for a bit after watching…

Edit: I used the trick from this thread: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-908191/episode-progress-not-full-after-watching-episode together with the t parameter, like http://www.crunchyroll.com/rwby/episode-4-687889?t=831, to get the last pixel on ep 4, and within a couple pixels of the end(after three tries) on ep 3.5. My queue is still showing ep 4 as the next to watch, but that may just be a lack of placeholder…

This is the same issue as in that thread you linked. I haven't seen the episode you had a problem with but as long as it doesn't meet a certain threshold (I think it is around 85% complete) it will not advance to the next episode (if there is one) in the queue. This isn't you doing something wrong, just the player not updating on completion like it should. It is just a lot harder to hit that 85% in short episodes if it misses a whole 60 second update at the end. In case you run into this again, let me give you a better link to fix it. This will work for every episode, just add the episode id to the end of the url:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/ajax/?req=RpcApiVideo_VideoView&media_type=1&cbcallcount=1&cbelapsed=30&playhead=3000&media_id=

for instance
http://www.crunchyroll.com/ajax/?req=RpcApiVideo_VideoView&media_type=1&cbcallcount=1&cbelapsed=30&playhead=3000&media_id=687887
should fill the whole bar for episode 3.5.

Ah, yeah, 3.5 is a mini in-between thing, and I only got it to about 80% before.

Sweet, thanks! I threw together a bit of HTML to make it easier: http://darekun.twilightparadox.com/Media/CRCompleter.html
