So watching some random clips from a Superman cartoon I had the sudden wondering if Saitama could defeat Superman or other very powerful superheroes (the general thought would be in one punch) or is it just too hard to compare the two?

it's safe to assume that Saitama is the strongest fictional character in all of existence. past, present, and future. he would be able to decimate all challengers with only a single punch.

The problem would be if the bad guy is so powerful that Saitama's One Punch would have such a massive shockwave that it annhilates the Earth in the process of killing the bad guy.

a character specifically designed to be the most powerful character in his universe vs another character who is equally designed to be invincible...it's like asking what would happen if an unstoppable object in motion have an unmovable object in the path.
if they fought each other, the universe would implode.

Based on Saitama's current feats in the manga, he could beat the Superman from Justice League/Justice League Unlimited. Comic Superman would kill Saitama.

"I win, every time, no exceptions" - as the anime's OP song says.

That's simply part of Saitama's design, whereas most of the other super-powerful characters I can think of have moments where they do lose, when the writer deems it suitable. But Saitama is written to be literally unbeatable.

Superman is far from invincible in the DC universe, or the strongest. DC universe has a ridiculous number of near gods.

Yeah, I think it's pretty much a given that Saitama *has* to win any battle, by definition. Then again, there are other characters who basically work in the same way, so a battle vs. any of them could only result in a divide by zero situation - universe destroyed after a system crash .

What about Tatsumaki and Fubuki?
Don't they want the One Punch D.

Going from the comics, they would probably be even for a while until Superman goes into his broken op mode because apparently, Superman has no limits.. Curse you, DC Comics...

If you asked Screwattack, they would probably say Superman. They made him beat Goku... Who's next? Yamcha? Ugh...
