I am new here and from what I've seen of the anime selection, Xbox layout, and other features from the site I have to say I am a little disappointed. While there is a decent selection it seems to lack key details about certain anime. Also, the audio quality of some series is piss poor to say the least. Air Master is a prime example. There is an fuzz sound that comes through all through out the episodes. The pauses in between the shows middle break are overly long. The video quality is passable but, that is still low quality. Also, noting that there are no indicators of wither or not the shows are Subbed or Dubbed. Which is another detractor. I was hoping to come on here and find Gundam Origin in english on here. But, that is not the case. I was also hoping to find 'One Punch Man' on here as well. Neither was the case which is disheartening. While the services are decent. I don't foresee myself renewing after my trial period is through.

Does anyone else have any complaints or comments about the service of this site and its apps?

Streaming issues keep me from ever using CR for watching anything. The app is pretty awful imho.

I come here partly for the """social aspect."""

Crunch used to be better back in the day (last decade). More people and essentially much funner. Now, well...

The ps4 app is kinda sucky, but apart from that I love everything else.

Dubbed, you sir have lost all credibility. The dub industry in Anime makes a mockery of good scripts and source material. Not to mention so many translation errors and mistakes.

I haven't had issues streaming, but my standards are near-minimum. I don't even feel I need 1080p most of the time just because I watch it on a monitor instead of streaming to my TV.

At any rate, the thing to bear in mind is that Crunchyroll is not Hulu or Netflix. They have a decent anime selection, but it probably costs a fortune to have simulcasts/current anime available for viewing. I renewed my trial because I made friends, joined groups, etc. But if you're looking for streaming and nothing else, I'd suggest sticking with Hulu since they have a wider library.

It's easier then digging out a spare vga cable and hooking up my PC to my t.v's soundsystem. Plus this way when Fallout 4 is bugging me I can switch right away to anime.

Depends on who does the translation. I have encounter terribly dubs, but also encounter amazing ones. I like when Funimation does dubs at least they get proper translation, but sometimes they do miss. Sentai has good ones too. Netflix has amazing dubs which I did not know they did that till I watch Knights of Sidonia

CR has to pay for the rights to play the anime they can get. So they collection is not bad. Dubs, please if you want dubs go buy them then. CR does have dubs here but only a few selection of it. On my laptop and main computer it plays good for me. On console not too sure on it don't watch any on it.

Never bothered with Sentai or Netflix so I'll take your word for it. Funimation is okay though, the odd error but the Japanese language is very complex. It's just I known spoken Japanese, I have a pretty good handle on kana and am making some headway in Kanji. So why would I bother with a dub.

i actually liked it a lot.... until they took out the smart tv app

now i have a big screen in my room I barely use as a sort of mirror...

those times i could watch anime, cozy in my bed without an annoying thing on my lap..

Anyways I use crunchyroll just for the sake of supporting jap companies, artists, and watching some seasonal animes. though, I actually prefer watching it in the ipad app... loads WAY faster

I think Crunchyroll was better when I first joined 3 years ago. I've had problems from the beginning, but overall I've been happy. The problem I had from nearly day 1 is, when watching via PC, it randomly jumps to the end of the episode. This doesn't happen all the time, but it was often enough to irritate me after a while. Their fixes did not fix the problem.
You know what did? Using the app on my Roku 3. Those were good days, I tell you. The app worked great, it was intuitive and designed for Rokus. Then, back in August 2014, they pushed a "new and improved" app on us Roku users. The only actual improvement was that it supported 1080p. The rest of the features that made it intuitive and useful? Gone. FF/Rew are, to this day, unusable, and the old app didn't have clunky workarounds to navigate the app. Despite 89 (and counting) combined pages of mostly negative feedback on two forum posts, they have refused to fix the problems and/or go back to the old app. (To be fair, a year or so ago they did fix some of the navigation problems, but that was a cosmetic fix more than anything else.)
I chose not to renew my subscription for months because of that, and was prepared to wait 'til the Black Friday 2015 sale (did they even do anything this year?) to renew. Then they made Black Friday pricing available year round, but had to keep that hush hush for Black Friday 2014, so that angered customers at the time.
Overall, when Crunchyroll works well, it's great. The anime selection ebbs and flows from season to season, but I can usually find enough to entertain me. Their customer service can suck hard, and they don't seem to appreciate / care about their customers as much as they used to.
I'll echo what others have already said about dubbed content: You won't find much of it here. Funimation, Netflix, or Hulu would probably serve you better in that regard.
Funimation has a 14-day trial so you may want to give that a shot before renewing with Crunchyroll.
