As far as content goes...

Crunchyroll has the best selection of subtitled new content every season but most you'll find will be family friendly.

Funimation tends to get the darker, more artsy content (but very few new titles compared to Crunchyroll) each season as well as offer the most dubbed titles. Their back catalog is a bit more extensive when it comes to older must-see titles.

The Anime Network, Viewster and Viki have a ton of older less seen series but very very few new titles. Like Funimation they also tend to have quite a few darker/more adult titles (Ecchi not Hentai).

Hulu has the most to offer but a lot of the new content ranges from a few weeks to a month behind the others. Hulu also has more content that's exclusive to their catalog. Unfortunately, Hulu also has commercials (unless you pay extra for a commercial-free account and the content is of lesser resolution than the other sites.

It's not that one is better than the other but that one is better than the other specifically pertaining to what you seek in your anime fix.

Been a member for a while, did have some issues with the PS3 app, but have had no issue watching on the pc or roku. Honestly first run anime isn't dubbed, it would be nice if they would pick them up later for the people who just need them but that's really just icing on the cake IMO.

I use crunchyroll and hulu to watch most of my anime, and crunchyroll has other options such as manga and a decent store and forums. I personally think its worth the money but your mileage may vary.

I only use the app to watch rwby on my Xbox cause I'm too lazy to go anywhere else.

I watch anime on other sites, and I use this site to talk and/or bother the hell out of people.

I am new here and from what I've seen of the anime selection, Xbox layout, and other features from the site I have to say I am a little disappointed. While there is a decent selection it seems to lack key details about certain anime. Also, the audio quality of some series is piss poor to say the least. Air Master is a prime example. There is an fuzz sound that comes through all through out the episodes. The pauses in between the shows middle break are overly long. The video quality is passable but, that is still low quality. Also, noting that there are no indicators of wither or not the shows are Subbed or Dubbed. Which is another detractor. I was hoping to come on here and find Gundam Origin in english on here. But, that is not the case. I was also hoping to find 'One Punch Man' on here as well. Neither was the case which is disheartening. While the services are decent. I don't foresee myself renewing after my trial period is through.

Does anyone else have any complaints or comments about the service of this site and its apps?

I generally like the layout. Streaming issues happen every other video, and the mobile app has its own issues with streaming too. The biggest letdown besides the small (ish) PG-13 selection of anime is that the mobile app got rid of the 15s forward skip button. I loved skipping big naruto monologues that way without having to adjust my lazy hands.

I had some problems watching this on PC at times. But other than that? I've never had anything major.

Works pretty good on my Ipad.

Well I have heard many people complain about CR I have yet to have a problem... Except maybe resetting the badges every month [as a collector I can't stress enough how painful that is for me] I'm fine with the anime selection, I haven't gone through everything on the site yet, so until then I have no complaints. Picture quality didn't bother me [it bothered my boyfriend] and I'm fine with commercials [my boyfriend not so much. So he bought the year subscription and his complaints were gone]

Regarding the audio, one, I figured it would pretty much all be subbed since English dubs are copyrighted [Though, with that said, the Cardcaptor Sakura English dub is cringe worthy, but I put it on while I'm cleaning so whatever] plus I watch most of my anime on my phone at work, so most of the time I don't hear the voice acting anyway so whatever.

I guess if I had to fish of a complaint I recently bought some stuff from the store [which fast shipping time and it was all amazing and decently priced] I wish there was measurements. I bought some magnets, the only review said they were small, by the picture I didn't expect them to be THAT small however. But everything else was aces.

As far as content goes... It really depends on what you are looking for or into. CR has a lot to offer, but I find several anime I need to use other means to watch them through (Funi for example). For the money I pay here, which I consider nothing to me anyways, I think it is worth it. I don't have any technical issues using the app on my phone or on my PC, but I can't speak on other devices like consoles. Though I have heard the apps suck on consoles overall... Look through the catalog and if you see enough of what you like I'd say go for unless you're having too many issues.

Now the website is another story. While I don't find it to be annoying like Funi or other sites, I do hate the simplicity of the site. That's including the forums... That's about the only thing I hate about it though.

The app, on phones at least, is horrid to say the least. If you're ONLY using it to stream/watch, it's fine. Works like a charm for me. What I can't stand is how bad it looks, how simple/useless it feels other than streaming/watching. It's pure ugliness to say the least. Also, no profile or forum access... If I want to do that shit I have to use the browser version, which is just fucking awful that I'd rather not even talk about it.

And for the store... no opinion since I don't care about that stuff.

Overall I like CR and think it's worth the money for what I use it for. I just think it's too basic on the app/site.
