Who thinks Accel World deserves a season 2 more than Sword Art Online a season 3? I mean, not to diss SAO or anything, it is entertaining as fudge... But Accel World is the better of Reki Kawahara's light novel series as it does a much better job of developing characters and plot. And if you have to give an anime a season 3, I would rather cast my vote for a A Certain Magical Index 3 than SAO... Index has the Accelerator, who is a character that needs screen time in all animes, right?

Well, it is your opinion.
And only your opinion.

SAO has a much bigger market than AW. But all that is irrelevant as AW is getting another season, and SAO is getting a movie and very likely a third season. There's already quite a bit of hype surrounding a potential SAO S3, people are excited about the Underword arc.

In terms of Index, Accelerator already has quite a bit of screen time. For not getting screentime, Shokuhou Misaki would be a more valid complaint. Her and Argo from SAO both have criminally low amounts of screen time (~5 mins for Misaki and ~30 seconds for Argo).

Index III when? ;_;

I agree with TC that we need an Accel World season 2, and not this original series thing they're doing. I want them to continue the story of the LNs, focusing on the characters we already know. Heck, that's why Accel World is better in my eyes, and my friends even admit it even though they like SAO more, is that there's really good characterization in Accel World. Why throw that out to focus on a new story in the same universe? Just continue the LNs, please!

Also, if SAO gets a season 3 before A Certain Magical Index, there is something wrong with the world. Especially with the cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, with them leading into the war thing, and if I've read stuff correctly, Season 3 would be largely the Battle Royale arc, which we need to see some of Academy City starting to hit the fan... Lastly, in regards to Shokuhou Misaki, that's where you'd want them to get Scientific Railgun Season 3 out, because even though they've butchered the series timeline some with Railgun Season 2, the beginning of the next season should be the Daihasei Festival arc, and that will give you PLENTY of Shokuhou. I read that arc in the manga, and they seriously need to get to animating it, as there's lot's of great action and comedy, and we even see Mikoto heading towards Level 6, which is pretty awesome/terrifying, and then we can finally see just how immensely strong the inside of Touma's right arm is. Hint: The dragon that came out when he lost his arm in the second arc wasn't created because of the enemy's magic, it was real, and it was coming out of his arm, so yeah...

Basically, they need to work more on series they already have going and stop trying to animate every LN that sells an even average amount.

^ SAO is hardly average......

It's already been years since Index last aired, and I won't be surprised at all if they put it off even longer. SAO is a huge cash cow so all the more reason for the producers to make more and more stuff. If it sells, sell more.

That being said, Index III would be more than welcome anytime soon. The wait's been too long already.

I mean what is this sad sack of lard even supposed to be?

SAO makes a lot of money.

Watching it makes me cringe though. It is the epitome of self indulgent otaku bullshit, and yet somehow it does not receive the same stigma as other self indulgent otaku bullshit does, and even acts like its above self indulgent otaku bullshit.

The villains are all more or less one dimensional psycho-rapists. The majority of scenes are about how much of a chick magnet that Kirito is and fanservice shots of all the chicks.

I mean if you took out the porn from Testament of Sister Devil, it would be SAO... with better villains.

To clarify, I know SAO is a huge seller in Japan. What I meant when saying making average-selling LNs into anime is just this huge splurge of LN-based anime we have lately, and while some of the shows are good, most are average at best, and none of them have conclusive endings because they rely on ongoing novels. Hence why I love Comet Lucifer this season, it's an original work that is said to have an actual end.

And Jing, you nailed why I dislike SAO so much, excluding the dub having Bryce Papenbrook as the lead... I don't need him in every other anime currently airing! Lol. I will outright admit I am a self-indulgent otaku. I love To Love-Ru (waiting for info on my Golden Darkness statue that should ship sometime soon), Hyperdimension Neptunia, Testament of Sister New Devil... Basically, if there's quality nudity, fanservice, or harem elements, I'm game. Yet, I know people who think I'm a creep for liking all that stuff, while they love the CRAP out of SAO. It's like, don't try saying it's a good action series, as it's really just a harem with a thin plot, involving either a murderer or rapist for every arc, sometimes both, and Kirito isn't some gifted fighter, he just basically cheats the system in each game to appear as a good fighter. Like in the Deathgun arc, you're telling me that pro FPS players can't hit a fast target? Seriously? That's just pure lazy writing to give your protagonist an easy win.

Testament of Sister New Devil is definitely better than SAO in my opinion, and even has cooler and tenser action sequences, yet when I've showed it to friends, it only clicks with about half of them, when SAO is loved by all of them. Why? Because they don't like the harem elements. Ironic, ain't it? Heck, there's even better villains and an actual plot to Testament, as it is basically the verge of a civil war over the Demon Lord's throne, along with the heroes and possibly some angels mixed in. And sure, some of the villains want to rape some of the girls, but these are actual demons, not humans, and the "rape the wenchez" thing isn't even their main reason for their actions, they just view it as a bonus, a spoil of war. To summarize, screw SAO and the hypocrite fans, give us more Accel World, Index, and Testament.

If you like Testament, check out the author's previous work, Hagure Yuusha. Hagure Yuusha is a very special show. It's self indulgent bullshit, but it's not self indulgent OTAKU bullshit. Imagine that you had a super OP main character who was a bit of an ass with a sense of humor, and the girls treated him as you think they might irl, instead of instantly falling in love with him. It's one of the funniest harems I have ever seen, and none of the villains are really rapists or murderers, they have deeper ulterior motives. While I enjoy Testament for its porn, Hagure Yuusha is a properly written harem, which is something that I can't say about the majority of harems. The CLOSEST in recent memory would be GATE.

Now while I say its properly written. I mean that it has enjoyable villains and enjoyable dilemmas which aren't cookie cutter. It still has a shit load of fan service, not as much or as blatant as Testament, but definitely more creative.

Here is a little taste of what I mean

The irony about LN-based anime is that the only four shows that I'm caught up with this season are all LN-based.

Also, don't forget that SAO has really good production values as well ;)
When A-1 cares, their stuff can be extremely pretty.

Short story time.
SAO was the first anime that I really got hooked on; I saw the first three episodes when I randomly attended an anime club meeting in high school. There was just this element that really pulled me into watching one episode after another, and when an episode finished I was craving for the next. There was this pull that I'd never experienced with other TV shows before where I wanted to get more and more nonstop. There's just this factor behind SAO that allures people to the show, like sirens luring in lost sailors. You're not going to get me to explain what it is though because I really can't and don't know how to explain it. Accel World just didn't have the same pulling effect that SAO had. It wasn't bad but it wasn't luring to the point of near addiction.

SAO is addicting and very beautifully animated i will admit, but it lacks a lot in terms of plot development like they just want to rush through the material. Kirito is an extremely generic MC and i cannot bring myself to like him other than the action scenes. Sinon saved the show in S2 as she was the only character, other than Yuuki/Zekken to be properly developed... still better than Log Horizon which is said to be its superior, but i just don't agree... Accel World and Overlord do a much better job than either of those 2. In fact the main reason people like it so much is because of the kirito/asuna relationship which i will admit is refreshing to see since most animes wait till the last couple minutes of the show to hook people up. Still the show should have avoided the whole "Harem" aspect and added at least a another male. Focusing everything on Kirito, harem, and boners was way too much.

No it hasn't.

A new Accel World anime has though, not season 2.
