Kinda, when I was a kid I was trespassing at a high school with a couple of my friends and the cops caught us and took us home. Funny thing was that just before that we were running around in the inside of a middle school playing hide and seek, for some reason the doors were unlocked and we took advantage of it.

When I was 17, a friend and I were walking around drinking. We weren't causing any trouble, but there were a lot of people who had an issue with me (from school.. long story). While we were walking, Chris told me that someone was running up behind us, so we turned around and got into a fight. We were ready for them and we kicked their asses, Chris, was even chasing one of them around a car with a pair of nunchaku that he had made in shop class. (he knows how to use them, too, haha...).

I stopped Chris from seriously hurting the guy he was chasing, while holding this other idiot back with one hand, while he was trying to hit me - so I restrained him, and the guy Chris was chasing started running. Let me clarify, WE GOT ATTACKED, we did not even antagonize, they came up from behind us and threw the first punch, and got their asses kicked.

A neighbor phoned the police, and the police found the two idiots that ran away with their tails between their legs - and those punks told the cops that we attacked them, and that we were armed, and that he thinks one of us was an escapee who was in the paper recently. The police then sent a good 12 or more cars after us. We were drinking, and weren't exactly sure the people shining spotlights at us were police, so we ran a 4 mile chase through drainage ditches until we were finally stopped at gunpoint from an overpass and a few cops that jumped into the ditch to bar our path. There were 15-20 police officers that I could see, shotguns/pistols drawn.

After I saw the guns, I realized we weren't running from their friends or anything and I told Chris to stop running, they're going to shoot - so we got on the ground and got arrested. The police were absolutely PISSED that they hadn't captured the convicts they thought they did, so they hit us with everything they could.

Our Charges:
Resisting Arrest (not true, once we gave up, we gave up)
Fleeing the Police (we sure did)
Disorderly Conduct (lol)
Criminal Mischief (lol)
Minor in consumption of alcohol
Minor in possession of alcohol
Curfew violation (LOL)
AND, Possession of a dangerous weapon (it was a pair of homemade nunchucks from shop class that he just happened to be carrying. Chris is the only one who got charged with this one)

There may have been a couple more charges that I don't recall but they all meant the exact same thing. That's the only time I've been arrested, and if I do say so myself, despite being minors and drinking, we didn't deserve the arrest as we were simply minding our own business and got ATTACKED on the freakin street.

Fortunately, as we were minors, my record is now clean and hasn't prevented me from getting any jobs, even at high-brow places like a Law Firm. Well yay... it's a fun story to tell now - but man, that sucked. I'm glad we didn't get shot.

I made a life out of not getting arrested, I got goals to get out of this country and I heard that it's hell doing that if you've served time.

Being arrested doesn't exactly translate to serving time. I had no problem getting a passport leaving the country a couple times since my arrest, but I have not actually gone to jail.

it's all the same to me but it's a kick in the balls that you managed to get arrested and go out the country and I've managed to not do either...jez, being poor sucks.

Haha, slow down there, I'm not rich. I'm far from rich, I make under $30,000 per year... ;-) My first vacation ever in fact, I would have been pissed if I wasn't able to go on it because of something like that.

It's not really all the same either... one has you spending time behind bars, the other one has you going home to sleep at night and never going back to the PD.
