Your personal experiences with this condition.

I've had it the worst after three days without any sleep.

I am able to sleep but I sleep at weird times. I stay up incredibly late most nights and even if I try to go to bed earlier, I don't fall asleep. I just stay awake until about 3am.

I have the same problem my sleep schedule is all outta whack for some reason 3am is the magic number idky honestly but I don't wanna take any kind of sleep meds and like depend on that for sleep so I drink chamomile tea or sleepy time tea which has chamomile in it and it actually helps me to relax. Staying awake all nite and day is the worst feeling too like I can't think straight and I'm kinda moody.

3am does indeed seem to be the magic number. I know a handful of other people who stay up really late and can't sleep, and it seems to be 3am for them too.

Chamomile tea is a good natural solution. It helps me relax too. Reading just before bed usually helps as well.

Most of the time I cannot go to sleep unless I drink milk or tea to relax and just stare at the tv until it comes to me.

I've always considered feeding the idiot box in order to fall asleep a problem. The reliance on television (as well as being jacked into any information feed) in order to become tired enough to sleep struck me as being something so terrifyingly ingrained in people that it should be trained out.

yeah I think reading before bed does help a lot, also pandrasb recommended ASMR videos, those have really helped me out a lot lately.

I probably got that because my Grandmother always kept the tv on so now it just became a habit for me too.

Usually when I cannot sleep is that I'm thinking of work. Projects that I have to complete or actions that happen that day that I'm re-experiencing. To fall asleep, I read Fan Fiction, am on here CR General Discussion, or viewing AMVs on YouTube. Sometimes I drink Pomegranate Green Tea, Hot Cocoa, or coffee.

Do you know what is causing you not to sleep?

I had insomnia last year. I had to take about 2 pills of night-quill just so I could go sleep. Night-quill didn't help me go sleep, it made me drowsy but I couldn't fall asleep. Most days I would stay awake the whole day and not sleep at all, usually this happens when I have something important that comes up the following day. I remember it was the final day of exam and I did not get any sleep so I stayed up all night trying to go to sleep but couldnt. It sorta went away when I went on vacation, their time zones were different and I had to adjust my sleep schedule. By the time I came back from vacation it went away.

I've always have trouble sleeping at night, even now.
I can stay up all night no matter how tired I feel.
On some days, I don't sleep for two full days, on other days I get under 5 hours of actual sleep.
