I typically only get Insomnia the nights before a really long and important day, or the first day of school.

yeah, i got insonina bad. last month, had a weeks worth of 48 hour days. it gets old fast.
3mg xanax + 400 trazdone + 200 seriquil works some of the time.

Holy crap. I used to take 100mg of Trazodone and it'd knock me the fuck out. How did you manage to type that forum post?

As for me, my issue isn't straight insomnia as much as it is nighttime anxiety. If it's a weekday, I often worry about what I have to get done at work the next day, which keeps me awake until the early hours. But I've also always had trouble falling asleep at night; even when I was a kid, I'd get up in the middle of the night to watch I Love Lucy reruns because I couldn't sleep.

I guess my adolescent inability to sleep led me to anime because of Adult Swim, so that's something positive, yes?

Sometimes, I just don't feel tired for a while and then all of a sudden, I can't stay awake.

I have periods of insomnia, but I've learned how to self-correct. We are creatures of habit. Some things that help me:

-Set a schedule. Get up at the same time every day, even if it's your day off. Go to sleep at the same time every night.
-Wake up early. Try to get up with the sun. Long days means you are more tired at night.
-No TV/computer after dark. When the sun goes down, PC/TV goes off. Cell phone too. Just turn it off. Studies have shown that the light from screens plays havoc with your body's ability to judge night/day.
-Exercise. When you are physically exhausted, laying down to sleep feels amazing.
-Diet. No late night snacking. Eat at structured times.
-Clear your mind. Just take some time out with no stimulation to slow down and clear your head before laying down. I like to go outside, maybe for a walk.

Establishing the right habits is the key to many problems. Many aspects of modern life go against our basic nature, and cause problems with our health/wellness.

just checked the bottle. its only 300mg. the xanax with the trazdone IF it puts me to sleep, only keeps me asleep for about 6 hours. some times even those two down put me down.
