Don't know about that, but some of us tend to be racist against black people. Hell, I was racist against black people.

Yes. It is likely overblown. The evidence provided isn't convincing enough to accuse of anything. Given new and better evidence, I could be convinced otherwise on the matter.

Just because racism exists doesn't make every little thing automatically racist worthy of flailing arms. You are using the fact that racism exists to assume that such a course of action was 'obviously' racist.

That's where people often fuck it up.

Agreed. Although it is possible that this was done due to racial preferences, it is far too soon to jump to that conclusion.

That's like a stranger telling you, "My car wouldn't start this morning." and replying with, "It's out of gas." without any extra information, denying any other possibilities. Even if it's a possibility that the car is out of gas, even if you somehow knew the stranger was bad about forgetting to fill up, even then you could not deny other possibilitiesn

If it makes you feel better, Miss Japan was half black.

And now I dont even feel bad about Japan almost taking over China and committing shitloads of warcrimes.

Those people don't meet my social justice moral standards? Better kill 'em to civilize 'em!

From the article:

People took to Twitter to share their concerns, with one branding the move as 'horrific'.

See, this isn't horrific. What happened to people in WWII is horrific.

okay. i checked the photo's out before making a comment. I took the time out to compare the two. i thought to myself, "which one is more appealing? " I picked out the Chinese one. it 's shows more Star Wars, you know the time line or history. Seeing the troops the space ships, princess leah and ford, both aged, the new main character just everything about is takes me back to the first film and brings me to the presents and reminds me the setting is out of this world. i think it is fine. the american one is too focused on the movie stars. but the chinese one emphasises the story and setting and special affects which i think will appeal more to a new foreign audience.

the black character, meaning he has a major role.

the poster is fine.

So no one's allowed to shrink any African American actor because it's going to be racist? So there's this poster, and they obviously delete and shrink /other/ characters too, but OH MY GOSH they shrunk the black guy /too/, so it's racist? You're saying if a character is black, they should be immune to deletion?!

Isn't the fact that it's being made into a big deal a form of racism in it's own right?

"Shrink a white dude? Okay."
"Shrink a furry? If you want to, go ahead."
"Shrink a person of indistinguishable sex/race because he/she/they are wearing a costume? No harm done."
"Shrink a black man? The **** you just say? Shrink a black man?! Are you kidding me? Get the news over here, we got a racist."

Distinguishing the difference and calling attention to it while ignoring the rest is in fact bias and the root of racism in the first place.

Many of the other characters seem smaller. It was probably not something they were thinking about when making the poster.
