with the recent San Bernardino shooting, I went back and watched a few (old) Columbine videos. i never knew they intended to blow up the school. it really struck me. these guys were nothing more than a couple of white guys with nothing going on in their lives. yeah they had a madness stirring up in them that ultimately boiled over but i bet you and me know or have known guys like this. you see back then i tuned this event out. i didn't want to know anything about it. it was so 1999. but now somewhat diving into it, its really shocking. i don't what it is but these guys had a plan. they had the weapons. they were so touched that THIS. WAS. GONNA. HAPPEN. i don't condone what they did, i don't believe in it but these guys were revolutionary. ...or maybe just a couple of punks with guns

Just a couple of nice white boys who wanted to celebrate Hitler's birthday. Is that so much to ask for?

Those boys probably creamed their pants in Hell when Sandy Hook happened.

Nothing is going to change. It's getting to a point where it'll become commonplace to either be shot or know someone who's been shot.

I was saying to my dad this morning that the media has a hand in creating this problem by over publicizing the columbine killers all those years ago. People see the attention they got and know it is a way to get attention and go down in infamy.

THIS. This so, so much.

This is probably another reason why people are shooting others in public more.

They were close, they were oversensitive, they lived in fantasy worlds and blamed "the jocks" for all their problems, and tried to strike back vindictively.
And worse still, they were upset because the jocks were calling them "gay". Why, the very idea.

So now is the media's fault that these incidents happen? lmao

It's probably the media's fault that ISIS exists too.

I believe the media does have a hand in creating an appeal for the deranged. When you run this things through the news cycle 24/7, it shows people that "they can get attention too". Do you not think copycat criminals are a thing? Any scum who will randomly kill innocent people is at fault for their own crimes, but the publicity is what they feed on.

Also, yes, the media does help ISIS recruit morons. So many young, naive, idiots join ISIS who wouldn't even know it existed if it wasn't talked about every other second.

I don't disagree but I don't agree either...blaming the media is like blaming rock music or violent video games for the kids' violent behavior.

From what I have seen, ISIS operates through the internet and through other clever methods like code messages via PlayStation or Xbox. If the media is at fault then the computers and video games are at fault too.

Morons will follow them one way or another.

Not really, killings at schools in the US can be dated back to at least the 1920s.

Funny that it also happened when the AWB was in full effect. I remember I was working the iron that day when the news broke, and the utter clusterfuck the media made of it.

After Ruby Ridge, Waco, Columbine, Sandy Hook, and today's shitshow, the media is dead to me. Doesn't matter, Fox News, CNN, Alex Jones, fuck them all.
