Terror, Worries and Threats , our way of life.
Posted 12/6/15
Nowadays with all the "crazy" stuff happening in the news and so forth, there has been a growing concern for something happening in our immediate area. People talk and gossip about shootings and local crime happenings, and the culture of fear sets in like an infectious disease. On the local front, Not too long ago , a friend of mine stopped a would-be home invader and held him on a citizen's arrest at gunpoint intil police arrived on-scene. It was all over the local news. She said she was thankful for her weapons training she got with her ex husband several years ago. Personally I would have let the man take my bike and go. I don't like guns. If it came to that I doubt I would have shot him, and he could have had a gun. I'm not ok with having to kill anyone, to me that should be the police's job , who are trained to do so if needed. My parents often talk about how the san bernardino shootings could influence the policey on gun culture and the upcoming election. I think that after Sept. 11th, we have allowed terrorists to influence outr elections and make us more hawkish and militant ourselves. We live in a culture of fear. Often I think of nations where people have no guns and their crime rate isn't anywhere close to ours, they may have an incident per year . I'm rather slow to anger, if someone thrreatens me I tend to not react in any way and fall back to reassess the situation, but it takes a lot to provoke me and most of the time, especially online where ppl say anything I tend to ignore trolling as nonsense, by rule is not to overreact to anything. I wouldn't consider myself a pacifist, but I won't let someone make me into what they want.

Where the fear of virginity past a certain age is worse than the possibility of a nuclear war.

We have grown much more militant and paranoid post 9/11. We jumped the gun and went on a war that cost alot of people its lives. Its fucked up. I have no recollection of a time before 9/11.

Fear exists for a reason, but it shouldn't have to determine your every decision. We need to take that fear as a sign that something is wrong and fix what causes that fear. Also, don't let statistics or news rule your life. Don't think about becoming part of a statistic. Fear can be used to manipulate people, by manipulating what cause the fear is from and using that to benefit their cause.TL;DR: Don't let fear rule over you.

Your friend has more restraint than I. Anybody who breaks into my house is getting shot, and probably won't get back up.

You were 2.
Of course you don't remember before 9/11.
To have actually been paying attention at the time you'd need to be about 26 or older.

Bunch of whiny useless civilians the lot of you. I fought the camel jockeys so you worthless cowards can bitch about the need to protect yourself being beyond your abilities and or moral beliefs, just fuck it. The world has changed and you cowards are going to have to accept that we have an enemy who has shown themselves to be cunning, patient, and above all determined to kill everyone that disagrees with their diseased philosophy and perversion of Islam . Oh and those nations you talk about whose gun ownership laws are vastly different, all have one thing in common. They aren't players on the global stage, they are insignificant backwaters whose military might is about four border guards and a passport office. The camel jockey's don't bother them because there is no point in weakening the resolve of their citizens. They aren't a threat to their plans. All the countries thus targeted are major players on the world stage with armies to back them up. They are a threat to their plans, and thus far have defeated them time and time again on the field of battle. I count my country among them, we've stop every terrorist force we've meet cleanly and quickly I might add. So instead of fighting a losing battle they have turned to international terror. Why because they know spineless whelps like you exist and will try to make others believe your cowardice is the best solution to peace.

I would have been three by then actually. But I still remember alot of shit about the time I just didnt contextualize it then. I remember Matt Maupin(local soldier who went MIA big deal around were I live) I remember that huge swell of patriotism after 9/11 (which my sister was very much affected by).

Allow me to summarize, so that others don't have to struggle through your poor grammar and inability to create multiple paragraphs..... ahem....

I served in the military and I am therefore better than you! If you didn't go to the army because you had no other future for yourself you're a coward!

Well, I've lived in Mexico all my life, so, nothing new here concerning violence

That's not to justify all the bad stuff going on, but if push comes to shove, you will have to fight; it's easier than it sounds, it's part of our nature, anyone can turn into a warrior if they put their heart into it.

The relative peace you have at times is because conflicts were fought and won (or lost); sometimes, you will have to do the fighting yourself.

The army is the only fucking reason you lot have had as much peace and freedom as you enjoy. Including the right to insult the memory of men and women a thousand times your better. If you don't like it feel free to leave the rights and privileges you enjoy right now and move to Syria or some shit.
