It's hard to come back from splitting with your soulmate... Never had a girlfriend, but I've had to end friendships and deal with rejections from women I thought at one point in my life I could call my future girlfriend that damaged me just as much, I'd say listening to music that emulates the mood your in is good, watching anime or reading manga definitely helps in my opinion, or just any movie or TV show in general for that matter. It's also best to keep a cool head, and don't dwell on the past to often, look for greener pastures in life, when one door closes, another could open

Honestly its hard to explain how to get over someone if they meant something to you, I found out my gf of 2 years cheated on me 3 times during that course so didn't really take me much xD But i think the only real thing is to just remember the good memories with her and try and move on, Don't start thinking that there will never be anyone else because there is someone out there for you, for me surround myself in friends, watch a buttload of anime and listen to a lot of metal, but just try and keep busy with things, takes your mind off it

well one know it is going to take time, and it might take one day at a time but you have to realise that your importance dosent come form your past girlfriends that you are important cause your you. But besides that you have to take it a day at a time. Listen to music and face it yeah its hard but it is what needs to be done best of luck!

Travel. A lot. Go to places you have never been before. See places, get to know other people and enjoy life while you are still young. Enjoy the new experiences that you are about to encounter. Eat exotic food. Eat native food. Do what you love and everything will fall into place.

I recently broke up with a girl and I feel like I lost a little bit of myself. Been feeling low for a while now and I want to get back into the swing of things and get back to focusing on my goals for the near future. I just can't make that first step since all my self confidence is gone

It's hard because you don't want to revisit the old stuff that both of you done together. Personally, I find a distraction that can help me through it. Something really different that you didn't do with your girlfriend. Maybe play a video game of sorts, or go hang out with friends. Usually hanging out with other people is a distraction enough (as long as you hang out with the right kind of people). The important part is that you are doing SOMETHING to get that self confidence back up. Being at home sad isn't the way to go because it just makes you think more about it.
If you play a game, maybe play something online?
