I knew someone that wasted their lunch break thinking about someone they didn't even like.

16 waking hours a day doesn't leave enough to to do everything I enjoy let alone what I don't on top of that.
I think it pays to spend time acknowledging negatives because there's no other way to learn from bad ideas and for no longer than necessary, in this way hate saves time by avoiding repeat encounters.
To spend longer would put focus on something unwanted.

You can hate them but you don't have to spend all your time thinking about why you hate them.

But the why is my favorite part.
It's what makes it justified.

Meh, there's only one person I hate. I don't spend a lot of time thinking of her, she just popped up in my life again last week after 8 or so years of not seeing her. I don't want to see her again. I did spend a good couple days seething about her though.

I really don't hate anyone outside of that. If I could help it, I'd rather not hate anyone.

Used to be a huge waste of time when I was a hateful bundle of depression.

It be healthy in very modest quantities I suppose.

I can't say I hate anyone. I dislike people, but not to the point of hate. It never gets that far cause I avoid people I don't like.

I'm not wasting energy on hate. Yes some people do things that annoy me. I'll acknowledge that. That's as far as I want to take it. Life is too short to be focusing on hate. I'll be spending time on things I like/love.

hating people is normal. if you have to see them everyday then that sucks. just let it go

I only hate people I love. Definitely worth it for a few years, but then it's time to move on, I think.

I remember the days when Internet trolls on Usenet considered themselves celebrities on discussion groups because there was no way to get rid of them, and no moderators to ban them. (Gee, can you possibly imagine what THAT must have been like?? )
The rest of the group, which was more interested in intelligent conversation, usually just shut them out, tried to keep the newbies from falling sucker, or bandied general humor about why the pest stayed around, but still stayed the topic of conversation.

And then, as Usenet started to fade, it became clear that most of the hardcore "legends" were just drunk or weed/addicted post-HS kids living on disability or other monthly scam.
One, quote, "legendary" self-franchising troll bragged to six of "his" groups that A&E was coming to his house to do a documentary on him...Of course, no one had told him the show was "Intervention", whom his family had hired to address his cough-syrup addiction. (Needless to say, he didn't take it well.)

That just sort of.....summed up how a generation disappeared. All those years, that made the Birth of the Internet seem like such a thrilling wild-west place, just suddenly seemed like a worthless self-delusion overnight.
Nowadays, when we find out some annoying poster over here might turn out to be autistic or be getting treatment for mental problems IRL, it just sort of seems like, "Oh, crap, why bother? )

No, much too time-consuming, life is too short for excess baggage. Forget about them and move on with your life.

Its not as if they think of you any, they've probably already moved on.

Hating someone takes no time at all.

Yoi just see someone, think 'this fucker again' and go about your day. Unless it's working with them, which can involve several instances of concealed rage
