The Flash streams come from a different CDN than the HLS streams used for devices. There are two workarounds:

1. If you have Windows 10, use the Windows 10 app.
2. If you don't have Windows 10, use the unofficial HLS player extension for Chrome:

With all the freezing going on, I've been using the Windows 10 app, which, so far for me, has not frozen. I do not like its interface, nor does it always play a stream, saying it is not found even though the web interface has it and plays it. Also, the web interface is much more robust, so I end up switching between the two.

The video for the website and the app are served from different locations and are different encodes. The one of the app may at times be delayed, sorry about that.

Did my trial planning to sub for at least a month, but this issue is infuriating. Watching on a browser on a Windows 10 system, the video freezes, timer shows 00:00, and i have to refresh. Same on both my netbook and my extremely robust desktop PC. Certainly not going to sub if the product is this frequently dysfunctional.

Since you have Windows 10, you may want to give the Crunchyroll app in the Windows Store a try. It streams from a different CDN (the same one as devices), and may not be affected for your area.

I'm running a variant of Kodi called OpenELEC with the Kodi Crunchyroll add-in. Over the last couple of weeks, I've noticed that I have the problems described earlier (buffering, frame skipping and the picture turning to garbled mush) on some nights and other nights playback is near-perfect. Advice to install the Windows 10 app or Chrome plug-in is useless in this situation and I'd rather not be forced to watch on my iPad or iPhone's smaller screen when I have a 60" and 70" TV I could be watching on comfortably.

It doesn't seem to matter what I try to watch on Crunchyroll on the nights playback is poor, I get the problem with multiple series. At the same time, if I flip over to the Funimation app and watch something, it's flawless. To add further data to this, just last weekend I moved to a new house with a different ISP provider and having the same problems. It appears to me that the problem is just lack of bandwidth or quality-of-service on Crunchyroll's end.

I really want to keep watching, Twin Star Exorcists has become my new favorite anime, but unless I can find a way to resolve this issue, I may have to cancel my sub.
