Thanks a bunches.

Explain your opinion in great detail. What is your definition of the word value? What does it mean for human life?

Enjoy!!!

hmm its difficult to say because you cant just say that some peoples' lives are more valuable than others based on their actions... what determines value exactly..? ofc society defines "value" in terms of humans as an active and contributing citizen that obeys the law but still.. i feel like everybody has a different definition and meaning to what makes human life valuable so its hard to really say tbh...

I would say no. That is just the pessimist in me. I find myself less valuable then many around me. I also see the people who have no interest in moving up in life and continuing to live in poverty worthless. I find people who want to better their life and contribute to society have a worth.

It seems society loves getting in the way sometimes.

Yes.

But not everyone deserves the value of their lives.

No. Things are valuable or not depending on what positive effects they can have. Same goes with people. A person's value depends on his/her ability to contribute to the group.

This is value to society, anyway. A person who isn't of any value to society can always opt to adopt a lonelier existence by him/herself. Or go to another society that has more use for his/her specific set of traits and abilities.

And even if an object or a life has value, one must weigh that value with the costs associated with keeping the object or person. A costs-benefit analysis. I dislike being guided my emotions when making decisions like this. You can argue all day and get nowhere if you are using emotional appeal. It's bad for the group.

Of course, I think all things and beings have some inherent value, but whether or not that is enough to classify them as valuable depends on the situation.

Value is just whatever promotes my own life and happiness. Which tends to mean less world strife and more good anime.

The thread is asking if you value human life equally. Not how society values human life. I value the life of my friends and family over strangers, simple.

Value in what sense? Concrete as in you pay the hitman X amount of money to assassinate Y, or arbitrary as in this person is more important to humanity than that guy over there?

According to a recent article , a body could be worth up to $45 million — Calculated by selling the bone marrow, DNA, lungs, kidneys, heart … as components

the value of a body based on the chemical elements that makes up a corpse. 160$

google search is awesome

All life is equal in the sense that all life ends. Some people chose to do more with their lives while others simple idle through their existence. In the end all our lives are the same in the sense that no matter what we do, the accomplishments we create, the connections we make, we all end at the same destination.
