If you substitute humans for robots in Asimov's three laws, we live in example #5 on here, I think, "Terrifying Standoff"

Eliminating "Don't harm humans" would result in "Killbot Hellscape"

What? No. Of course not. That's nonsensical.

Every action produces a consequence. As a result, we must carefully weigh the pros and cons of each decision we make and each act we commit. To not question the affairs of others and/or the self is to create a world without any respect for reason -- a world where mere whims and desires supersede logic, law, and ethics. It'd be complete and utter chaos!

It's a loop. Me being able to do what I want includes interfering with what other people intend. If I can't do that, the rhetorical situation is canceled out.

I skimmed that and thought it said should people be allowed to say whatever they want, and had to think about it for a little while.

Now that I see that it's whether people should be allowed to do what they want, it's a much easier no.

As much as it sounds like a good thing, if every human was able to do anything they liked without consequence it would result in absolute chaos due to the single most dangerous fact of the human mind. "Every single one is different" With that being the case no matter how many humans the're are, they would find a point of contention, and with no rules or boundaries we would just end up destroying ourselves, hence why as far back as the early tribes of humankind, there has always been a hierarchy/leader to set the boundaries.

No.

Though X amount of people could do whatever they wanted without hurting others due to an inbuilt sense of respect they have for each other, there would always be one who would not share this respect and go on to hurt said group without some sort of ruling.

Well thats my theory anyhow.

The law of the jungle.

The strong do as they wish. The weak are either enslaved or dead.

I'll pass.
