They're much more humble than the snobs born into money. Usually it takes a lifetime of hard work and commitment. These people started their own businesses and invested, and many of them still own businesses to keep their money. I work across the street from a golf resort and in the middle of about four neighborhoods that include multi-million dollar homes. I see these kinds of people quite often.

The ones that I knew believe in their product. Knew it inside out. Never stop at No. Were determine and persistent. They also diversified their holdings thus never having all their eggs in one basket.

biscuitnote, you seem to be on the right path. You mention in a previous thread that you fix and clean up motorcycles than sell them for a profit. You also mention investing in to ATMs. Eventually you will realize a segment that is not being serviced or being serviced poorly that you could improve. That is how most make their first investment. BTW, how did your ATM investment go?

They have no life. They spend pretty much all their time working to the point where it is ruining their health and they still won't stop. They are cheap and they live by the "don't spend 50% of all your monthly income"rule. They tell me they can't believe how so many people use up all their money quickly to enjoy and have fun such as going to the club or buying Starbucks coffee everyday. They laugh at people who spend generously every time they get their paychecks because those people tend to have little to no money left at the end of the month and probably are no where near to becoming a millionaire.

I know many self made millionaires but many of them don't "look" rich. Most look pretty average because they don't spend their money on useless expensive stuff when they can get the same thing for a whole lot cheaper. I actually know one self made millionaire who looks like a hobo. His winter coat has holes in it and he continues to wear shirts with holes in them (not to formal or important business events of course, just on a everyday basis). Yet every time he takes out his old worn out wallet, it is stuffed with 100 dollar bills.

I know at least two. Their stories are very similar.

One started his own consulting business after his company fired him. The funny part is his first client was that company which now paid him almost twice what he had been earning to do the same job he had been doing before. He did other things since then.

The other just worked his way up in his company. Actually started as a coal miner while getting a degree in engineering and management, then through successive promotions became a regional president.

Both are hard workers, took opportunities, educated, resourceful, and charismatic.

this is how to do it. Just ask Peter Chernin, chairman of the Chernin group that owns Crunchyroll, the worlds biggest Anime streaming site.
