Yep. started as an engineer and went on to start his own company. He now has a big big house. Private jet. etc. But, the guy is real down to earth. The other day he drops a chip on floor and declares the 3 second rule and picks it ups and shoves it in his mouth. We all ripped on him for that one. We told him a billionaire would never do that sort of thing.(he's net worth is 960 million) We also pick on him for being to lazy for not being a billionaire. Yep, good guy.

Coworker and friend of mine. He's had over forty years of savings and hard work in steel mills and construction sites. He once saw a man fall into molten steel, decades ago. The family buried a steel beam, in place of a body.

But even doing all of then will not guarantee you get through life rich or poor ;)

Also some rich people would have bad commnuication skills.

Do you know any self-made millionaires? And if so, what are the most consistent traits that you see among them? We're talking about people who were able to go from being a member of the middle class community, to becoming a millionaire. Do you find that there's any general commonalities among people who were able to achieve millionaire status?

My boss is one.

He came to this country without nothing and now he has his own company and is a millionaire.

This is what I have noticed, the beginning:

He had/has no addictions (doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs)
He worked/works all 7 days of the week
He goes to work at 5am and goes home at 8pm
He is responsible and do what he says he's gonna do on time
Relationships matter. Due to his hard working ass, responsible and honest attitude, his bosses gave him a raise and promotions.
Because of that, he could save $1,000,000
After saving that amount of money, he set up his own company
He is a landscaping contractor, he has no bosses, he is the boss and makes $42 per hour
He has a good relationship with the higher ups (those who give him the contracts.)
And now he has another company in his own country, has houses and apartments on both places and still works hard but lives like a king and travels everywhere anytime he wants.

In other words:
Work hard. Nothing is easy.
Don't have any addiction because drunkers will waste their money on drinks and so on.
Be persistent, don't give up.
Be responsible and honest.
Make good relationships because they will help you in the future.
Save, save, save until you have enough to make your own company and invest in properties.

Yes they do.

The one I mentioned above is one.

Btw, I know OP is kind of against illegal immigrants.

My boss came here as an illegal. He is hispanic and didn't know english. He worked hard and got the legal status through his job because he was over qualified. He was poor in his country, came to this one and accomplished what everyone calls the "American dream".

Now he is the boss of many americans. If someone like that can do it, any person born in america can do it. Just work hard without looking at what everyone else is doing.

What LittleSquid said (own an oil company). Even if you don't own anything in oil but work directly for big oil, you can expect to make more than you would at most other jobs with the same title. But yeah, owning an oil company will make you crazy rich fast. That's all I can say.

Yes, probably 16 years ago my uncle started a small technology company focusing on DNS management, and now his company has moved to Silicon Valley and he's a multi-millionaire. I guess what I see that his success is dependent on is that he's a very innovative person and just really good at what he does.

Came to the US to attend American college. Lived in unheated rooms in North Dakota and Michigan. Currently worth 30 million give or take. This person has a high attention to detail and even though their specialty is in pharmaceutical research and development they have a good grasp on basic skills in accounting and finance. Despite all this I feel they are still bad at picking stocks.

Everyone else I know just got lucky with the stock market.

This is if we are just limiting it to those that were middle class, but moved up. Obviously I have also met those that were just born into rich families.

I have no problem with legal immigration. However the illegal problem is out of control thats we need a wall and a strong border. Illegals have decimated the american working class and we are told to suck it up and accept lower wages and higher crime rates. WE THE PEOPLE are fed up with the elite telling to accept less say no to illegal immigrants.

Blame the immigrants for your lazy poor ass while many of them have accomplished more than you will ever do in your whole life.

I have worked alongside many illegals that stereotype is very inaccurate. So you are ok with them lowering wages because they undercut american companies?

What stereotype? that born citizens of america blame immigrants for their lack of employment and say things like "damn illegals, they're destroying this country!"?

Just read what you write, you fit that stereotype.

Or that they are hard-working? so, you're saying my boss is a fairy or something?

As for lowering wages, only an idiot falls under the assumption that this happens because of illegal immigrants. Blame the companies whose sole purpose is enriching themselves.

Now, now. I hope you follow the tips I gave on how my boss became a millionaire instead of going against immigrants. That kind of mindset usually never accomplishes nothing. If he could do it, you can easily do it too considering that you were born in America and know the language perfectly.
