I love it but wouldn't want to live there,

No too much crime, if there is a terriorst attack that is where they most likely would attack, too many people mean people at that.

Hell no. Too big, too crowded, too expensive, and too loud. To visit? Sure thing. Nothing long-term. Suburbs and country are more to my tastes. I like to retire in quiet.

I used to go to college in NYC, right around the 80's Koch years--Much nicer back then.
The NYU campus in fall to me was like something out of a movie, and Washington Square was the best possible scenery you could walk through on the way to class.
(Of course, they never told us a few things that we didn't know in the 80's, so when Washington Square-ites came up asking for a "smoke", I would reply I didn't have cigarettes.)

Back then, I could spend a Sunday afternoon just walking up Fifth Avenue to the park....Yep, I was a total newbie.

I like NYC in small doses, and lots of money saved up. It's a fascinating place, interesting and lots of different kinds of people, lots to take in. But, no, I would not want to live there unless I had a great amount of income to support a comfortable life there. As I said, I like to visit there but no.

Yes i would but I'd want to live somewhere crowded and not isolated. New york at night is terrifying, and stinky I wouldnt want to travel alone at night there.

I've lived there for a good amount of my life and I have always wanted to move back there when I was older, but now I wouldn't want to live there at all. Although it is a nice and fun place to visit.
