The people are acting like getting arrested for a cyber crime will ruin your life permanently. Most people who do shit like that on the web go to jail for a couple years then get cozy jobs in cyber security firms.

A couple of years is still by no means a laughing matter. Just clarifying.

The section down below specifically mentions it will be harder for these kids to find a job.

So? Don't do the crime if you can't take the consequences. Also, harder, but not impossible with proper rehabilitation and supports.

Edit: I think we're finished here. I bid you good day.~

megahobbit: There, in red, is the context. I have no sympathy for hackers who are gifted and use their gifts for exploitative reasons. None whatsoever. Although I think they CAN get their shit in order and be productive members, nor do I think breaking the law behind a computer is an instant passport to financial success. That is what the fuck I am talking about.

I get that part. But bid you good day? Were finished here? I never even responded to you on anything in this topic besides the message in question.

public domain , excuse me, I am busy.

I haven't been able to find anything recent, but his views will always stay the same. “Our free and open Internet has made invaluable contributions to democracy both here in the United States and around the world. Whether you are rich, poor, young or old, the Internet allows all people to seek out information and communicate globally. We must not turn over our democracy to the highest bidder.”
This is my own person opinion, but Bernie Sanders would never censor or shut down any part of the internet. He fought to keep the internet open.

So, Americans think that the internet is an American app, a property of Bill Gates, that can be turned off with the click of a button... ok, then.

Until last year, the USA controlled the domains.

In a statement, the U.S. Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration said it wants to relinquish its oversight of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.

ICAAN is a kind of cooperative that includes a wide array of companies and people, as well as more than 100 governments. One of the key functions overseen by the U.S. is the assignment of domain names.

You ain't very bright are you boy?

I'm not going to spend my valuable time explaining to you just how absurd the idea is that the internet could be boxed in a single building somewhere labeled 'ze intarwebs' on which there is an on- and off switch that your president can simply press to stop telecommunication between my country and another, excluding yours, and instead amuse myself with the fact that computer software has now become so user friendly that even someone like you are capable of navigating through the internet without failure.

I honestly can't wait to see who becomes president. If Trump becomes pres I'll be just as satisfied as if he wasn't because he's supposably gonna kick me out of the US since my family came to the US illegally. However they're citizens now so idk what'll happen. Screw him.
