After having a Guinness (my absolute favorite beer) a few days ago I pondered what was so wrong with drinking at a young age; I had though about Europe and how even though they had a younger limit their youth tend not to abuse the drug compared to American youths. If you have not already known I have drunken beer before, my first was a wine cooler (started when I was like 15) I drink lightly (only one beer) and usually in three month intervals. My friends are another story (two in particular since they decided to bring gin to school on two separate occasions and how they would often call me “pussy” for only drinking beer (they are good friends and we all share common beliefs also most don’t do any other types of drugs). My friends who drive and drink had the harsh experience of drinking and driving after they had almost crashed head-on against a red-light-crosser, luckily they learned their lesson and no one was hurt. When asked in our psychology class how many of use take psychoactive drugs, a stunning 80% of us have taken alcohol (second is weed with 68%) of course most of us don’t abuse the substance and many of us underage drinkers seem normal.
So I ask you fellow members of cr have you condoned in drinking at a young age and what is you stance on underage drinking?
Yum… Guinness

It's not a sin, or something worse. The problem with that is the law. It is not good for politics, and governments to let something moral, as lowering the drinking age go easy like that. Society look at it with different eyes, but normally it is all because of the women. No, I am not accusing, just pointing out. When I say 'women' I am talking about the 'mothers,' 'grandmothers,' 'aunts,' etc. Fathers wouldn't mind in most of the cases. It is up to you if you drink, or not been underage. But also, been underage means you are under the wing, and law of your parents, meaning you are not exactly 'free' in the eyes of society to do whatever you want.

first off, a mod needs to more this to extended discussion lol

lol umm its fine for any1 that wants to do it, i mean you could go to war at 18 but you cant even buy a beer? lol

people will always be stupid with things they do, the restriction at 18 just makes the percentage go down alittle bit
for example;
people OD on drugs and drinking
Driving and drinking
doing retarded harmful stuff (rape, sex etc)
just make fulls out of themself.

but i would say, if you wanna drink, you should drink lol, not beer stuff, but the hard stuff lol
no point in drinking and being "cool" if you drink the weak crap lol

I and almost everybody I know have been drinking since the ages of 13-15 and I have had some pretty wild times. Binge drinking is pretty common but i'm over 18 now so it's legal although not always a good (fell down some stairs the last time and hit my head).

I think it should absolutely be allowed, that way kids can burn themselves out on it before they are legally able to drive. I started drinking at 12, am 21 now and honestly it's boring to me. Hangovers suck too, especially during a work day. So I don't drink much anymore anyway. It was fun when it was illegal because there was a small shot of thrill in it, but now it's pretty much lost its appeal in all but chillin' with a few cold ones during a game or whatever.
