I think you should be allowed to drink when you're 18 since you're allowed to die for your country at that age. I don't agree with anything younger than 18 however b/c teens can be really quite irresponsible and they often lack judgement. I taught highschool for a while and I can say that those kids should not be drinking.

teacher eh... i think i can guess your past, you believed being a teacher was going to be awesome, but after the first 1-2 years yuo were miserable because you focused your attentions on the kids and got no respect for it, and after you quit (if you were a english teacher) worked for the bank (math) got hired back again, but refused

Here some parents let their kids to drink and one girl ended up dying. It has been several years so I don't know the details, but still.

We are allowed to drink when we are 18 and since my birthday, which was in october, I have been in a bar twice and drank 1 drink at home with my family. It isn't any fun unless I am stealing someone elses drinks (usually my sister's). ;P

aside from the 'i've been a teacher part' you're pretty wrong. haha! i actually taught english abroad. i have taught classes for my professors here in the U.S. but they were higher level undergrad engineering courses (and therefore doesn't apply to this discussion). anyways, neither of these really counts as a career. also I did work in banking but that was way back in highschool.

anyways, i taught english abroad only as a cheap and easy means of seeing a bit more of the world and not b/c i thought being a teacher would be awesome. in fact, i fully expected it to suck ass seeing as i was also a teenager once (and i know i was a bit irresponsible and annoying). anyways, i don't regret my teaching stint and i didn't hate the kids, nor did the kids treat me poorly, they were pretty fun and cool kids in general although they had some pretty crazy notions concerning americans. but like most teens, they were a bit lacking in common sense and responsibility but what teen really has these qualities anyways?

strange most teachers are like what i have described too you, most are dreamy eyed young men and women who get thier dreams crushed when they find out how much hell there is going into teaching, most quit after the first year and become bank tellers.

Harsh...
Well, i think underage drinking is fine, just as long as you can control yourself. I mean, I myself, am an underage drinker(sort of). I drink on special occasions like on weddings and such. Of course you don't drink till you're shit ass drunk(well, i wouldn't know, never reached drunk drunk).

okay basically, underage kids will always want to do what their grownups are doing . since it basically represents being officially an adult when you drink . [or smoke]

underage drinking should not be cool, should not be tolerated, and should not be abused . frankly you are giving your brain even more reason to slow down its development . underage drinking has a deep phsycological effect on kids, even if they do not want to admit it . the majority do turn into alcoholics when they grow up, or worse, turn into another case of 'underage drunk driving' when they DO learn to drive .

alcohol is not something to be taken lightly . you can get alcohol poisoning, or worse ! set your self on fire because you drunkenly thought it would be cool >.<

One of my schoolmates has a beer once in awhile, I don't really mind since he usually only drinks one a week as far as I know. Its probably quite bad for his health, and it doesn't help that he has ADD but its not like hes getting hammered.

I don't touch alcohol myself, since most the beverages taste like dirt, and when I say that, people usually say "its not about the taste its about the buzz!".

Well, you can keep your dirt-tasting buzz and I'll stick to my candy habit.

well fine, you can get fat off candy, and we'll get fat off booze, and we'll see who's had more fun in the process.
