well i had my first sip of wine when i was little and them being a catholic= wine every sunday. when I go to parties i drink, but not to excess. I mean, I'd never want to be that drunk girl, passed out on the floor or acting like a twat. Being drunk within reason can lead to fun but, on the whole I don't see the appeal of drinking loads all the time.

I've liked to drink occationally ever since I was 15, but I dislike heavy drinking.. Think I've only been smashed twice, and not a pretty sight. When people start drinking so much that they pass out or puke, then I find it disgusting. I'm probably one of the few that never wants to be totally drunk and controls myself that way, and therefore view drinking as a social thing. Less than a year till I'm legal anyways

I'm not a big fan of drinking but me and my buddies always get together and just drink, blaze and basically just chill. It's good to have older friends that can get you alcohol.

I can't really say this from a perspective, but I think my brother did underage drinking. He started probably when he was around 16. I used to sneak around in his room to find anything that he stole from me. And occasionally, I would find wine bottles tucked in his cabinets.
When he was 17 and just started college (skipped a grade), he came home one day. I looked in his suitcase to find my phone charger that he managed to swipe from me, and I found a bottle of whiskey tucked in his clothes. I later also found three other bottles of alcohol in the mini fridge down in my basement when I was cleaning. No one really goes down there except my brother.

I guess it's not such a big deal for me. My brother seems fine everyday, and he never seemed like he got drunk. And wowwww, I just found out that they raised the legal drinking age to 21! T_T My brother's 18. So he's still underage! He goes out with his friends once in a while, and I take it that he goes to drink and party- regular stuff. He's not an alcoholic. He's careful about drinking and all that.

So, underage drinking for me, isn't a big issue. If the person's about 15, I guess it's fine. Anyone under 15 who drinks [a lot], is a bit too much for me. Underage drinking is okay when the person isn't drinking large amounts like everyday. I'd expect myself to even drink when I'm underage, as long as it's not too bad.

I was an underage drinker myself until I turned legal recently (the legal drinking age is 18 in the UK).
Before that I would often drink myself silly and think it was cool but now I know to control it. I think most people will go through a curiosity phase where they drink underage, overestimate the amount that they can handle and drink too much.
If I hadn't done just that before I don't think I would now know not to drink too much...if that makes sense ^^

Right now though I really dislike seeing underagers drunk. The way they behave is far from cool that it makes me cringe that I was like that once.
Underage drinking is fine if you're mature enough to know that you should control how much you drink. Experimenting a little is fine but at the end of the day the age limit is there for a reason.

I think it's about the drinking culture really here in Holland when we turn 16 we can drink beer, but out culture is we go to a bar or club or whatever and just drink beer.. it's not so hip as it is in America I think. In America people go to a party where they serve beer, and it's a uncontrolled environment so a lot more things can happen, I think they should lower the age limit in the States so parents can control their children better because they know what's going on as opposed to not knowing what his son or daughter is doing at the party and if there is alcohol envolved.
