You know what sucks? Liver cancer, cirrhosis, beer guts, etc. But all that comes from overdoing it. I don't think tasting alcohol or moderation is bad. It's probably popular to be an underage drinker, unless you like the taste, because you're not allowed to do it.

Beer guts? Beer isn't a hard liquor. Usually "beer guts" refer to the calories in beer and sometimes alcoholics are often malnurished, even if they happen to be overweight. But when you have cirrhosis due to long term alcholism and increased portal hypertension, you can get ascites (fluid build up) in your abdomen regardless of what type of alcohol you drink.

There a few thing to think about hear in U.S. you can get a Driver license at 16. It is some what harder to get one there. The transportation system for people to get around town is larger over there. Not a practical ideal here, to much space to cover and way to few people to support it. I seventeen when I enlisted in the army I could drink over there or on base here. Once discharged I was still to young to drink twenty one being the drinking age over hear. I am off track one people do not complete develop into there mind twenties using drugs most likely will do more harm then good. My advice if your looking for a good time, try it with out the aid of drugs. As you get older you can appreciate the taste of a good beer, wine,and etc,. Keeping thing in moderation is generally not norm for younger people. Europe is a nice place to visit but to live and work there Socialism I do not think so! I been so messed up by to much alcohol and drugs I thought i would die. going through the dry heaves and being sick for several days at a time been there. I lost friends because they drank themselves to death, or car crash, mixing alcohol with recreational drugs not a good I deal.

my mom did offer me beer the day of my graduation ceremony (i was 18 when i graduated from high school) but i didn't drink it.

Not a drinker, never have been, never will. I for one think its really retarded getting shitfaced drunk and making a complete annoyance and ass out of yourself. I really wouldn't give a crap if they drastically lowered the age on alcohol. Whatever mess your body up while its still growing or do something stupid and get injured, not like anything of importance will be lost.

i think as long as the kid is guided by an adult on how to handle themselves with alcohol, it's okay.
