My devices just got updated today and I'm kind of frustrated with it. (It's a holiday update I guess, the icon changed to one with a snowflake)

I'm not digging the new layout. The icon/picture sizes are huge. The used to be a lot smaller so I can scroll through a lot of updated shows quickly. Is there any way we can adjust the layout or make the icons smaller? It barely shows a little over one show per screen without scrolling.

I also have the app sideloaded on my android TV and whatever the app changed, broke it. Its stuck in portrait mode and I had to sideload another app just to get it in landscape. When I try to view the updated animes in the menu, it looks even worse (see pictures). Would be nice to have the old layout back... an official android TV app would be nice too.... I've seen a few threads regarding it but never really any official responses.

If anyone wants to chime in that would be appreciated. I don't want to whine so much, but Crunchyroll is one of the things I look forward to after a long days work.

Thanks!

Yes, this update is likely not to work well on Android TV.

What resolution does your phone screen have? Can you take any screenshots?

The phone is 1080, but he sizes aren't as bad on the phone. (I attached some shots) That is kind of odd because my TV has a higher screen resolution than the phone. I preferred the old layout better just because I could browse through the whole list of updated anime a lot quicker visually with smaller icons. It worked a lot better on the TV as well. I wish I could have taken a picture of it before it got updated.

If this is how its going to stay on most android devices, has there been any word on making an app specifically for android TV?

I have an issue in which the video resolution looks like 480p even after I set the quality to high, I have a Samsung galaxy s6 and ran with outstanding quality before the update

Did you try logging out, uninstalling, de-authorizing the device via the website, installing again, logging in again?

Please make a standalone Android TV app. Crunchyroll had a Google TV app so why no Android TV app??

Any reports of program forcing Portrait Mode and staying in that mode on a TV from a Nexus Player?

If not, this is a report to say that's what it is doing. Had to uninstall CR 2.0.1 and go to a pre 1.x version (0.9x) to make it work. Some one claims 1.05 works ok, so I'm going to try to hunt that apk down to test it.

Was all excited to see a new CR app come out, hopefully they will try to fix the issues soon.

May I make a suggestion or two in this thread? First, I'd like the app to allow landscape viewing since my tablet and phone are sitting in that orientation when I use them for viewing any video. Hulu, Netflix, Funi, you name it, all allow this.

Second, the update anime list has lost it's usefulness for me because it doesn't list either the number of episodes or the number of the latest episode. Dates on the list are worthless to me since it's listed by most recent anyway. But number of episodes or episode numbers are invaluable to me for finding new series each season. That's the only reason I use that list since I add anything I watch to my queue.

The app is very pretty now, and I applaud you for all the bugs you've removed and for making the video watching seamless with nary an issue. I would just like a couple extra tweaks to make it perfect. Thanks for all your hard work!
