Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 2/6/08 what i know of is that the got this theory from the calender of the Mayas or the Aztecs and they saw that its calender stopped at 2012 so they say the world is going to end in 2012, i don't really think that is going to happen but the second ice age is more possible then the end of the world, look what happened on the year 2000, nothing, so i say history will repeat it self.

When a group of people with an apocalypse fetish walk into a society with no idea how anything works, and stumble across a calendar that ends in the year 2012, then of course you're going to have a bunch of people panicking thinking that this is the end-times. People thought the world would end at a number of different times and would begin in a number of different places. Nostradamus predicted the final war of man would begin in 1999; I note that we are still here. I suggest researching the Bak'tun Cycles of the Mayan calendar before you start jumping to conclusions about our possible extinction. Better yet, go to Mexico and find a Mayan, like I did, many a moon ago. Get the whole story, and relax.

But if it is true, it makes me wonder what I have been doing this entire time, just focusing on studies that will not be of any use in the near future.
