But for the Mayans to have an actual date, that happens to be so fuckin close scares people. Thats probably why they chose not to make this thing public. If you think worrying about global warming coming first then your fuckin wrong.
I forgot the shifts timing but I think its every 450,800 years.
Another source is the Web Bots that seems to be relatively correct.
[edit] I think we could afford to lose 1 billion human beings. Makes it easier on us I guess

All I have to say is go kill yourself, you said yourself we could afford to lose 1 billion human beings.

Oh please spare me the antics because last time I check I fight for the united states as fucking soldier. Where the fuck are you? sitting at home on CR all day exactly. So next time you make a bland statement that tries to neglect human strive for survival GO BLOW YOUR SELF..... *straight from y9our favorite U.S. Navy Boy Tony presently stationed at Fort Hamilton in NY*

What are you talking about? It's your solution, so why don't you help, being a solider doesn't really change anything, so like I said before.

I came up with two crack theories about the end times.
First is the scare of apocalypse in 2000 then the scare in 2006 not the scare of 2012. These are three instances separated in 6 year intervals. 666 lol I know it's sorta crazy but I came up with it a while ago.

Then theres the End of the School year in which is 6/4/08 (in the U.S at least) add that all up and you get 18 divided by the thee numbers that made it is 6. now place them in 3 again 6/6/6 lol again. I know they're crackpot theories but they're my crackpot theories.

Yeah I saw that 23 movie too so yeah.

and as I said before disregarding human intentions is rather pointless and is a waste of Justice. Whether you dislike the fact the 1 billion people are expendable may it be me or you associated its truth. Because over population isnt gonna be solved by birthing more babys now is it?

Yup.....The end is near.
Just as it was in 2000 and in who-knows-what-other-year.
Its better if we just give up and kill ourselves before it comes....

from an article i read on myspace
i really hope you'll read this article

The Mayan Calendars comprehension of time, seasons, and cycles has proven itself to be vast and sophisticated. The Maya understand 17 different calendars, some of them charting time accurately over
a span of more than ten million years. The calendar that has steadily drawn global attention since 1987 is
called the Tzolk'in or Cholq'ij. Devised ages ago and based on the cycle of the Pleiades, it is still held
as sacred. With the indigenous calendars, native people have kept track of important turning points in
history. For example, the day keepers who study the calendars identified an important day in the year One
Reed, Ce Acatal, as it was called by the Mexicans. That was the day when an important ancestor was
prophesied to return, "coming like a butterfly." In the western calendar, the One Reed date correlates to
Easter Sunday, April 21, 1519 the day that Hernando Cortez and his fleet of 11 Spanish galleons arrived
from the East at what is today called Vera Cruz, Mexico.

When the Spanish ships came toward shore, native people were waiting and watching to see how it would
go. The billowing sails of the ships did indeed remind the scouts of butterflies skimming the ocean surface.

In this manner was a new era initiated, an era they had anticipated through their calendars. The Maya
termed the new era the Nine Bolomtikus, or nine Hells of 52 years each. As the nine cycles unfolded, land
and freedom were taken from the native people. Disease and disrespect dominated. What began with the arrival
of Cortez, lasted until August 16, 1987 - a date many people recall as Harmonic Convergence. Millions of
people took advantage of that date to make ceremony in sacred sites, praying for a smooth transition to a new
era, the World of the Fifth Sun.
From that 1987 date until now, Mr. Barrios says, we have been in a time when the right arm of the
materialistic world is disappearing, slowly but inexorably. We are at the cusp of the era when peace
begins, and people live in harmony with Mother Earth. We are no longer in the World of the Fourth Sun, but
we are not yet in the World of the Fifth Sun. This is the time in-between, the time of transition.

As we pass through transition there is a colossal, global convergence of environmental destruction,
social chaos, war, and ongoing Earth changes. All this, Mr. Barrios says, was foreseen via the
simple, spiral mathematics of the Mayan calendars. "It will change," Mr. Barrios observes. "Everything will
change." He said Mayan Daykeepers view the Dec. 21, 2012 date as a rebirth, the start of the World of the
Fifth Sun. It will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the
galactic equator, and the earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy
.

i view this whole 2012 thing the same way i view other "end of the world myths." oddly, those myths never prophecize the end of the world, only a great change that leads to a time of unrivaled peace and abundance.

Armageddon is a great battle which in the end takes us to 1000 years of peace.

Ragnarok is a great battle that destroys everything in yggdrasil (the universe, essentially) but from the ashes a new world of abundance is made for the last humans and gods to repopulate

Kali Yuga (hindu maybe?) is the "dark" times, or times of strife and discord, and the end is the darkest part, but then the cycle restarts and we go back to Satya Yuga, a time free of any unhappiness.

zoroastrianism traditions say that a great battle will occur between their lord "Saoshyant" and the destructive will of god named "Angra Mainyu." when the battle ends, the wicked suffer for 3 days and are then led to paradise with all the righteous.

i believe the same for this 2012 theory, if its real at all.

i also want to point out that the mayan calendar does not end. just look at it, its a giant circle. all thats happening is the completion of one full revolution of the calendar. i guess you could look at it like a clock telling the time. the later it gets, the darker it gets, with the darkest time being just before the dawn, with dawn is fast approaching, if you believe this at all.

As I have said, if your solution to over population is killing people, go die, saying a life is "expendable" and crap is putting a value on a life, and thats wrong.

Whoever believes this crap is completly insane.

Oh please! You can be the smartest scientist in the world but that doesn't mean you know when the end of the world is going to be. I saw that too and it did freak me out. The Mayan calender said something about the world ending on December 21, 2012. People also said it was going to end June 6, 2006, and Y2K was supposed to happen too, but did it? Nope. Only God knows when Armageddon is coming. Hell, it could be tomorrow or next week for all we know. Everything ends, in the Bible it says this. Death is expected but no one will know neither the time nor the day. And the Earth isn't going to be destroyed, we are. In the Bible it says that every man will go through jugement, and those who are not found in the book of life will be sent to hell.

Now this is the Christian belief, I'm not telling you to believe in it. But won't it be funny when the sky dose crack open...then what? While everyone else is running around crying and screaming and going to church on that date, I'll be enjoying college and spending a Christmas vacation with my family.

Oh no, 2012 again? :(
First the internet's gonna be gone, and now the world?
Seriously i don't believe any of these ideas..
I think the recent disasters are stupidly manmade,
religionists are trying to stir something up from everything that's happening lately.
