From what all you listed, I'm not even close to an "otaku"...

I'm past the stereotype. I'm the one that's so far into things that people either don't want to touch me or they envy me.

I dunno.

Love the anime I love but I can't stand most other people who like terabad anime (Naruto, SAO, Bleach), Just Weabs and Tumbltards in general.

As much as I love anime I love Vidya way more, and books more than vidya.

I figfure i'm too much of a normie for yall and to much of a tard to fit in with normal people, but I do okay.

I'm not an Otaku. I only have a single anime DVD. I certainly don't go to conventions or cosplay. I'm also not a gamer.

I'm a Poktaku. I love anime, and I watch A LOT of it. But we know where my real love lies lol.

Though I work a full time job, have a nice car, my own place, and go out at least once or twice a week. So I keep the life balanced and not living at home in my parents basement doing nothing lol.

I don't slobber all over 2D characters or have imaginary waifu's or have "One true pairings". I don't go to anime conventions, I don't really like crowded places or socializing, and most things can be bought off the internet.

Other than being into anime and being at home all day, every day, I don't think I fit the other stereotypes.

I suppose I could be a stereotypical geek.
I like :
-watching anime
-learning history
-gaming (I admit, I'm horrid.)

I'm somewhat of a neeter, my weight fluctuates.... I suppose its normalish, so unlike when I was younger, I'm not over or underweight.
I DID decide to become a secular buddhist with leanings towards non-religious zen teachings.
Out of all my books, I only have one shelf of my 9 bookcases dedicated towards manga.
I dress formally most of the time when forced into public situations.
I am engaged and will be married in a year and a half.

So sure... I was once a "stereotypical otaku", but I suppose I've grown out of it.

I watch anime. Used to own a couple of manga books but that's a long time ago and I have no idea on where they are.

No merchandise and no socializing within like conventions or similar. Guess I play some games.

None I have met has really filled that description at all either. I guess it's one of the reasons why the online part confuses me

Very far from normal, but if I wrote down tags, something tells me Loreen would sigh, edit it, and go "Why? Why did you have to do that?" and I could, because I have no shame, but I realize that I've already spent eight of my nine lives so I shouldn't tempt fate.

Eh.

- Watch 3-5 episodes of anime per day (more on weekends)
- I own some manga but not much. I have only recently rediscovered my love for anime/manga, so most of the titles I owned when I was younger were given away to Goodwill a couple years ago - very much a shame since I had the Slayers novels.
- I do have a lot of anime merch. T-shirts, plushies, etc. But I'm very picky on this end.
- Used to moderate online comms and do fanart. Not so much anymore.
- I want to go to Japan someday, but more for hiking than anything else. This is Haruki Murakami's fault.

I go out of my way to not be an otaku, quite frankly. The ones I knew in high school didn't have any other interests, which led to a conversation monopoly. They were also loud, which I did not like too much.
