So I'm a member of another site called Blingee. Basically it's a site where you edit photos and then people vote and comment on them. Unfortunately any Christmas images seem to be getting a lot of hate on there. This really annoys me and so I felt I just had to make this post.

Do you celebrate Christmas?
If you don't, does it offend you? Does seeing festive images anger you? And if so, why?

Christmas isn't even really about religion anymore. I'm an atheist and I celebrate Christmas because it's a holiday about being nice to others, having fun, exchanging presents etc. Surely no matter what religion you are, you shouldn't be offended by joy and happiness.

For those who do like Christmas, enjoy these festive anime images. For anyone who hates Christmas, get a life.

Why should it, except being a poor/rich issue (where some could turn really angry of them doing such a thing or afford it)

even though before its was more of an idea and didn't need to be it today it feels more like it is.

else yes many non christians do celebrate christmas these days, so its more a time to take care of eachother and much more so before (where the winter could be very HARD on most people)

It doesn't offend me in any way.

I just view it as another holiday where you spend time with family and exchange gifts.

Everything can be offensive if you look really hard and believe in yourself.

No, it's not offensive to me. It's basically a day off I get to spend with friends or family.

Nothing offends me unless it's directed at my wife, my son, or myself in particular.

As a Christian, no - Christmas doesn't offend me.

People get offended by all manner of things, including apparently people practicing their religion and celebrating a holiday about the birth of Christ. People get offended too easily.

I think the change from "Merry Christmas" to "Happy Holidays" is telling of how the culture has changed as well. The message is basically, "It doesn't matter what you celebrate -- Happy Holidays to all!" -- and that seems to apply to celebrating family, privileges and rights, another year of happiness and well-being, and so on -- not just any particular religion. It's a cultural holiday as much as a religious one now, and it's not even really a single day of a specific religion anymore, but a whole season. A whole MONTH, really.

It's basically SUPER Thanksgiving. It's not like you get together for that because your family is all really into that pilgrim story. And it's not like you celebrate Halloween because you believe in (or even KNOW) any of the reasons why it's a thing. It's all really about family, friends, magic and children, tradition and dinners, giving and sharing -- a reason to gather, to be grateful, to take time out of our busy lives and just celebrate everything. ANYthing.

And what that is doesn't really matter as long as it's merry and benevolent.

But is it offensive to bulls, due to all of the red colors?

Also, I really don't celebrate Christmas 'cause I'm cheap and I don't believe people should get something for nothing.

To me, it goes like this:

It's the holidays, I celebrate Christmas, so I say Merry Christmas.

If I tell you "Merry Christmas", but you're Jewish, I'd like you to reply "Happy Hanukkah". That doesn't offend me, because that's what you're celebrating. If you say "Happy Kwanzaa" that's fine too, even "Happy Saturnalia" or "Happy Holidays" if that floats your boat. You doing you takes nothing away from me doing me, and it's bigotry to think otherwise.

So if you celebrate Christmas, post pictures of Santa and reindeer! If you celebrate Hanukkah, post pictures of your menorah or what have you! If you just treat it as an ordinary snowy holiday (or summer holiday for those southern hemisphere folks) then just share pictures of what you enjoy!

But seriously, post what makes you happy this time of year! (Unless it goes against the forum's rules of course xD)
