Remember how you were a kid and you wish you could've gotten this and that? When I was a little kid and they still had the Sears Wish Book (yes, I'm old...so what?) My brother and I would spend countless hours paging through it and looking at all the cool toys. Then, in preparation to meet Santa Claus we would write out all the toys that we wanted. Sometimes they would be over 100 items, several pages.

Every year we would plop in some old dude's lap and shelve our list on him. He would take it it would magically spirit away just in time for next little girl or boy to do the exact same thing. One Santa even had a large box next to his throne where he would toss these countless lists in. Ain't nothing like sitting in the lap of a black version of St. Nick, smelling of menthol Kools and cheap cognac, to realize that this guy SO ain't the real thing. He wishes that he didn't call off that last time at Fisher Body because of his drinking problem. Instead, now he has to put up with brats like I was and the countless lists that we had.

I had to be older to realize that I was never going to get even 1/20 what was on those lists. I can understand that now. But it would've been an awesome Christmas if I had everything on that list.

People need to stop hating on this mother because as former kids we've all been there, wanting and wishing.
