Why would anyone read or approve of such a book...

Have you read it?

No and never will.

Then you are no fit to criticize it. Of course you can say what you want but wouldn't have any substance to it.

And no, they do not celebrate Satan.

Instead, Satan is viewed as a positive archetype who represents pride, carnality, liberty, enlightenment, undefiled wisdom, and of a cosmos which Satanists perceive to be motivated by a "dark evolutionary force of entropy that permeates all of nature and provides the drive for survival and propagation inherent in all living things"

Yes this particular Author that started this movement does not believe in a literal Satan but Theistic Satanism is a thing. The Atheistic Satanism only started around the 1960s with the arrival of this book.

Ah, I see, was going to edit to specifically mean followers of LaVeyan.

You seem to be knowledgeable about this book O.o

Quick Google Search. Quotes was because Wikipedia, didn't want to quote it though.

"Satanist groups that appeared after the 1960s are widely diverse, but two major trends are theistic Satanism and atheistic Satanism. Theistic Satanists venerate Satan as a supernatural deity, viewing him not as omnipotent but rather as a patriarch. In contrast, atheistic Satanists regard Satan as merely a symbol of certain human traits."

Wiki usally isn't a credible site but I can see how it gave you some insight on this subject.

Look at it this way. It sounds like a book celebrating a demon that has it in for us. Why would anyone celebrate our end?

No I think I am. Satan's goal has to do with the suffering of innocents,. Why in the world you support this is beyond me.

Wiki is generally fine, I've cross checked information dozens of times between other sites, books and wiki. They are generally consistent more times than not. You can always check the sources below if you're that worried. It's just something schools have drummed into us.

If you believe in the christian version of the devil. That sound more like preconceive notions than anything else.

Sounds pretty cool. Maybe I'll buy it and read it.

No, but I'm sure it contains more merits than the Bible, Tanakh and Quran combined.
