I really don't miss having to blow into those NES cartridges to get the dust out just to get the darn thing to work... And don't forget the codes that came before the save system. I remember making mistakes when writing them down thus losing all progress.

And I also don't miss the PS1 era which was the first steps into 3D environment. God were those controls clunky!!!

As for games getting more boring, I don't feel this way. In fact, for me, although there are still plenty of crappy games being released, in general, they're currently better than they were in terms of gameplay, controls, storytelling and graphics. Then again I don't have as much time for gaming as I used to due to other obligations and hobbies, so a game like Witcher 3 will keep me busy for 4 to 6 months.

The only time I was ever bored with video games was when I was younger, and that was because I was playing way too much (I quickly got through the good games and all that remained where the crappy ones) and only a very limited number of genres (basically only JRPGs, RTS and Master of Orion 2).

Games are getting better to play for me as new crafting systems that are more complex come into play.

Otherwise there all the same as they used to be for me

It's kind of true. I mean I been getting lazy with my playthroughs. I think I am getting tired of subpar superficial stories, and pretty graphics. I'm getting tired of exploring big vast worlds without any directions. All games are becoming the same now.

I personally cant button mash like i used to. Don't like online games that i have to listen to your crappy rap music. I hate games that are shipped without better testing forcing us to deal will all the bug and glitches and large patches for the next 10 years. I know, i sound like that guy yelling to get off his grass. I Just need some good old fashion hex based war games to calm me down.

I know how you feel, but that's not the case with Ragnarok Online though. It's more fun now than in its first few years.Games are all about making money these days and this generation still has its hands up in its ass when it comes to making better games. Although, I am hoping that the new Wii U games would give people the similar type of fun that we had as kids going crazy for arcades. I would rather be playing in Dave & Busters than to buy the newer and more hyped up consoles. Gaming shouldn't about what game is popular atm.
