things always get lost in translation, that's just how language works. if you literally translated everything then it's not going to make sense.

i feel like as long as the message is conveyed and expressed correctly then i don't really have an issue. however i've seen some grammar mishaps haha now those do bother me

There's no such thing as 100% accuracy when translating something from one language to another.

Nope, though as someone who speaks Japanese fluently I can tell you it's simply because too many translators translate literally. I sincerely hope none of the those kind of people work for the UN, they'll start ww3 if they are not careful .

I am not Japanese so i don't know how to speak the language but i have watched enough anime to know when something is off. I can't say for sure but it feels like the translations are not 100% accurate. Does anybody else feel this way?

Yeah, but it's as close as it can get, so it gets the job done. The same goes for official translations of Manga.

Fan subs and scanlations get a good chunk of the meanings, but official subs and translations get as close as it will get.

Why use anime, which is never 100% correct in their translations regardless of who does it rather than a reliable source like a book?

Not everyone has access to all the tools, when I started learning Japanese I used anime for practice and as I got better could see words weren't matching up in anime and decided to not use it to learn but it's excellent for vocabulary still

Tae Kim guide, which is an excellent source for grammar is available for free, and also available on the app store google play for free.
Japanese grammar books are not that expensive, either (at least the good ones anyway)
you could also find plenty of other resources for Japanese learners for free, and there are even free video tutorials online.

Crunchyroll purposely translate 'Foo Fighter' into 'Team Asteroid' in Cardfight Vanguard

Even when you can hear the characters say Foo Fighter clearly, and the logo on the floor of their HQ (or was it their School) building

Although that's more of a legal issue, probably.
