Hobbit.
Smaug was a better villian than the giant floating eye.

Lord of the Rings all the way for me! Two Towers is by far my favourite of the Trilogy!

I liked both, but the hobbit I guess. I liked the dwarf-elven romance, the dragon, and the movie prequels were better than the star wars prequels by a lot. There seemed to be less large-scale war until the end also.

I prefer LOTR due to the orc/goblin debate The Hobbit brought up. Two names for potentially the same race.

LOTR. Felt like they dragged out the Hobbit for longer than they should've, but LOTR was well done while still being quite long.

Well lets just say that when the Lord of the Rings extended versions came out I bought them day one. And when the Hobbit announced that they were doing extended versions I just laughed.

Literally 2/3rds of those Hobbit movies felt like one long goofy dwarf CGI chase scene. It was some of the most boring shit I've ever sat through.

I feel sorry for Pete Jackson and the production hell he had to go through. For what he had, he and his team did excellently.
Lord of the Rings is so much better however.

LOTR. The Hobbit movies had their moments, like Smaug (which they killed off within 15 minutes in the next movie which seriously almost made me walk out of the theater), but they never really pulled me in like the LOTR movies did.

In both series they changed a lot from the books. In the Hobbit there was no romance between elf and dwarf. In the Lotr the first movie bears little in common with the first book. They totally changed the way Frodo and the hobbits left the shire and they left out everything that happened between their leaving the shire and arriving at bree. In the second book the elves didn't come to Rohans aid. In the third movie they left out everything that occurred in the shire after Sauron was defeated.

Lord of the Rings was so much more emotional for me, I like the characters more and they just go through way more hardship than anyone in The Hobbit.

LOTR all the way. Although while I enjoy both, LOTR is a much better film trilogy.

If the Hobbit was just a generic fantasy movie, it would have been great, but it was SOOOOOOO far off from the book.
